So when I turn my steering all the way to right or left and try to go forward or reverse, I get continuous knocking sound coming from the front half of the car.

I thought it was my sway bar but now I think it's center diff?

What ya guys think? What are my options?

    I have 03 WRX Wagon

Hmmm sure it's not the front diff........

My car clunks when I am backing up on a non-level surface with the steering bottomed out.

It is not consistent. I guess if yours is consistent it could be something...........

ya its consistent and it happens when I go forward as well, on a flat surface.

I'm not really sure what the problem is. I'm gonna go to sog or ts tomorrow and see

Per an expert (not me) it seems the best way to check any diff, axle etc is to put it up in the air. You may want to cost them out with Top Speed if it's a diff or axle and you're not under warranty. They should be able to beat the dealer.

check lug nutts are tight, and inspect axles. You will get constant clicking/clunking sound if you lugs aren't tight, even if you are going in a straight line. If Axles, call O'Riley Auto Parts, $70+plus your broken axle, life time warranty.

Is this cold weather making the steel more brittle causing stuff to break?
