I am changing my clutch soon and was just wondering if you had to drain the tranny fluid before changing the clutch? I remember on my Honda when we changed the clutch, we drained the tranny fluid before pulling the tranny off. Just want to be prepared with some extra-s if needed.

    Thanks

Its not needed for either. Whatever you do: DO NOT BLEED THE CLUTCH!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll be wishing you didnt after fucking with it for hours trying to get it to work again.

You've got 3 options with the trans:

    1. Use trans/axle plugs to keep the fluid in. (What I do)
    2. try to keep the trans straight and level so the fluid doesnt spill during R&I.
    3. Drain fluid and get some new extra-s to refill after you are done.

Kewl, tks...King will be doing the install so I might just get him to drain the fluid and add the extra-s in. Any bets on how long it will take him? I say 4.5 hours.

    45mins~1hr.

But thats at the shop with my tools.

On jack stands w/my tools, no air...if its atleast on concrete and not burning ass hot outside...I'd say 2~3 hrs for me.
