Moving down from MA in two weeks (damn it's coming up fast), and don't think I'll need my snow tires anymore. Trading them off up here for new rims and all seasons. I've got two deals in the works, and have to choose between '03 WRX rims in *great* shape, with RE92's also in good shape, or TSW Kyalami's with a bit of scraping on one lip clad in Hankook Ventus HRii's (similar shape as the RE92's). Seems a no brainer, but the WRX rims are in better shape, and I'm not sure of the Ventus's snow/ice capabilities (need to get through the next two weeks and the 1K mile trip down there). I figure, though, since I've been driving in this shit for years, I can handle two weeks on almost anything - I've driven far worse I bet. So it seems it might come down to aesthetics. Seems petty, but for some reason I'm hung up on this choice. My car isn't really setup for looks and performance, its more of a utility wagon. Well anyway, enough blabbing... Here are my choices: Keep my stock 7-spokes with low-end Michelin all seasons (and put the RE92's on my wife's legacy): Or put the 7-spokes on the legacy and wear these (chop): Opinions, suggestions, and flames (keep me honest) wanted. Thanks!
Well, decided to pick 'em up, and got them on this morning. They're a bit smaller than I expected (didn't figure on the profile being so low as to lower the overall diameter, even with a larger rim), so there's a bit of wheel gap. But I'll only be on these tires for about 20k and can figure something out later... All in all, I like 'em. I really like the rims, and don't hate the tires. New England was nice enough to me tonight to provide just enough snow to test 'em out - and they suck. But they sure were fun. They also redeem themselves on the bare asphalt (wet or dry), so I'll learn to like them too.
