I have been searching them intranets on this topic to figure out a way to make this easier. I am getting really tired of cleaning these wheels. I now have some grime in the corner by the spokes that won't come out. I have been using a magic eraser lately, which seems to work well, but I would like to not spend an hour on my wheels every time I clean the car.
Does anyone have some good suggestions? I have seen McGuires, clay bar, and some Eagle stuff come up often...so I thought I would pick the brains of the locals!
    Thanks,

Wheels is like doing dishes. they will get dirty almost as soon as you wash them. I can suggest something you can use that will help get the dirt out easily but I don't know if I can help you not wash them but have them look good.

I do paint correction on cars for show cars or for personal satisfactions so I've used many different products. For wheel cleaners, I recommend using Sonax wheel cleaner:

It is pH balanced so it's safe on all kinds of wheels but it is aggressive enough to take the dirt and grime off easily! I've used it on my powdercoated wheels and stock wheels and no problem whatsoever. Sometimes degreasers can be a little too aggressive.
Again, I can't help the wheels not get dirty but I can suggest something that'd make cleaning a lot easier.

I actually just started using it as well and it's just like another layer of clearcoat and it makes it really sleek so a lot of the times you will just have to rinse it with water and it should come off. At the least, you will know you will have extra protection on the wheels.

I personally recommend getting decent brushes as well. Not saying they will take off the black spot you are talking about but good brushes will last longer/leave no scratches on the wheels/etc. You will have to spend about a good 100 bucks but it's very worth it especially if you are meticulous enough to wash the wheels almost every week (if you don't, maybe it gets so dirty because you don't wash it frequently enough lol). Anyways, any brushes made of Boar's hair will do. You can get some from DetailersDomain/Autoality.

To get rid of the black spot, you may need to polish it. I've used my M105/M205 on exhaust tips and they've worked great, so you can try that as well.

*I suggest you take the wheels off in order to apply the OptiCoat2.0 because you will need to get it very thoroughly cleaned and you will need to take your time applying it. After all, it is a paint sealant, unlike wax :)

Good call on the Sonax!!! Man, this stuff is great!! I was out vacuuming the car today and the package arrived from Amazon, so, why not give it a shot. I did one of the fronts while the tire was still on the car. The results were pretty good! I was basically just spraying it on first to see the effect it would have without scrubbing. Then, I thought, well, let's take a tire off and see how well it does the barrel (which I have never cleaned since owning the car). Below are the results. I sprayed it on, let it sit for about 5 minutes, then went around with a wheel brush (not using much elbow grease at all), let it sit for a couple more minutes, then sprayed it off. I have to say the results are pretty impressive for about 5 minutes of work! A little more time on wiping it down and they would look really nice!

Question, in the last picture you can see some scuffing along the rim. Any idea what that is from? There is a little bit on the face of this wheel too? Could it be from when the tires got mounted? I purchased the tires at Sears because of a discount, and they are not the best at service. :squint: The first time I took it there for my free tire rotation, the guy couldn't figure out how to put it in reverse and dug my front end into a flower bed. :squint:

    Thanks,
