alright, here goes, today is the day... gonna pull my head lights off the car, clear em out, and paint the 'unused' reflective chrome black... wish me luck.... *walks off to SURELY screw up and come back crying in a little bit* ***on a side note just thought i would let you guys know that i have begun my black knight transformation... i have already got the wheels painted gloss jet black and now i am on to my next part of the conversion***
yeah i should be able to, i got out of school last week so i aint got that to do anymore until september when next semester starts.... but yeah i got them out and now i'm about to start cooking... this is the freakin part that i am worried about... any general advice?
lol, saved by the bell... errr... well ringing of the phone, my mother called, gotta help her with something, be back in about 15 minutes...
HELL YEAH! i got em apart without screwing them up! now for the clearin and painting!!! i'm so stoked!
make sure you use a lot of apoxy or good waterprtoof sealant after painting them so no condensation appears in the headlights..take my word for it!!
thanks for the tip weapon, i bought a whole roll of window sealant at work yesterday so i figure i will have more then enough... alright well, ones paint is drying and the other one is about to go in the oven...
alright, one is done and ready to be installed, and the other one is being reheated to make the glue plyable so i can get it put back together
DONE! DONE!!! they look so beautiful... think i'm goin to cry ... lol i'm off to my bros house, if any one has any questions about the process then post here, i can tell you what to do next on the bugeye models now... maybe i can get some pics with my bro digital camera while im down there and post them on here... later guys
my bros camera was busted (two year old son decided to play with it) but my gf has one and i can hopefully get her to let me take it with me on wednesday after i go see her... they look so cool! cant wait to show you guys
i didn't balck the entire light out or anything, i did mine slightly different then most people do theirs... the only part i painted black was the edges, the divider part between the headlight/cornering light and the turn signal (but not the top part of the ledge just the under and front side) and a wide band between the headlight and cornering light (but not the entire cornering light.... i wanted to do it just so much that it was original without being to much (in my opinion) plus this way i can get the jun eyelids and the turn signal will be pretty much chrome underneath except for in the corners... i kinda wished i had put a little more black into the cornering lamp area, but for now, i'm happy with em... hopefully i can some pics on here by tomorrow night... assuming i can figure out how to do that...
with the way they are, from a distance, it looks kinda like my headlights are medium range tint on them, i guess there is just the right amount of black in the right area to reflect the sun like that... i think it made it look kinda cool... on a side note i got some black lug nuts ordered today, i didn't like the chrome ones on the all black wheels... so i should have those on friday.
i should be over at my gf house tomorrow (was goin to go today but things got complicated) but yeah i'll steal her camera and do it to it!
got myself a camera but i will have to take pics tomorrow sometime... dont know when i will be able to get them online though... my bro has the only program capable on his comp... surely by this weekend...
when you hook the camera up to any pc you should be able to go to my computer and see it as another drive or external storage device. if that works just explore that device and you should be able to copy pics to hard drive. thats how all the cameras ive used including my girlfriends works. and she has a real cheap digital camera.
i got a usb cable and tried it and it wont read it, guess i will have to use my bros firewire, next time i'm down there...
I have a Media Reader in my computer. If you have the memory card I can stick it in and pull all your pics off it.
i may not have time to get to my bros house anytime soon, but the good news is that anyone who is coming to the drags at commerce can check them out, i'll be there... oh and i just got done painting the calipers and rotors(the edges and center) black today, looks pretty sleek...
