I don't know if anyone has had this problem, but I just bought my new STI and I have hated the clutch feel and I really didn't know what was going on. Come to find out that there is a thing called a CLUTCH DELAY VALVE in the clutch slave cylinder that meters how fast the clutch can be released. There was a few write ups on NASIOC but they all pertained to the 2006-7 cars so I did a little write up on my slave cylinder on the 2012 that I think is the type that may be from 2008 till now. This is what is inside and you just unscrew the big silver nut (fitting) on the back of it and remove these parts. https://picasaweb.google.com/1075555...72999148085090 I removed the black rubber flapper ring from the metal washer part in the picture that has the little holes in it and then put the washer with the holes in it back in. the reason I put it back is because the screw in fitting hits it and it keeps the o-ring sitting in the correct place, if you don't put it back in I think it would still be ok but it doesn't hurt anything to put it back. https://picasaweb.google.com/1075555...72999148085090 The plastic part has a tiny hole in it and that is what causes all the problems for you with the clutch feel. https://picasaweb.google.com/1075555...73014187358578 https://picasaweb.google.com/1075555...73033255511890 https://picasaweb.google.com/1075555...73048966663922
And here is a picture of my home made slave cylinder bleeding helper that I made, lol https://picasaweb.google.com/1075555...73025888116034
