Hey guys, my 05' STi lutch has been slipping. It has 125K on it. I was planning on rebuilding the motor at 190-200k after fixing my house. My question is, what usually wears out on a clutch? Clutch Disc? Given the pressure plate does not have hot spots on it. If it's just the clutch disc, can I replace that for the moment till I do a rebuild? I'll replace the all bearings at when I replace the clutch disc. Flywheel will be taken to a machine shop for a "turn"(forgot what they call it b/c it's not rotors of course). Not sure if the pressure place can be "turned/sanded" if it has hot spots. Also, is there a rear main seal on these? I'm sure I'd replace it since I'm in there. Trying to keep cost down since I've focused on fixing my home instead and when I'm done with the house(whenever the flooring and bathrooms will be done). BTW, I've removed and installed these motors a couple of times before, just to give you a background. Any help would be appreciated.
Might as well replace the whole clutch/pressure plate and flywheel. 125k is alot to still be on the stock clutch. Shit might as well do your rebuild now too
