tranny fluid is not hard at all. i would say it's about the same as changing your oil.

it's a bit more of a PIA if you have a large top mount.

    I thought the cocktails was
    1qt. Redline Lt.Weight Shockproof
    1qt. GM Synchromesh
Fill the rest with Castrol Hypoy C 75/90

Can't find the Castrol for the life of me. Will the other Redline work just as well?

Not here they don't. MidwayAutosupply has the Castrol and Summit has the Redline. Ordered myself and my buddy what we needed. Then got Synchromesh from AutoZone and Mobil1 75/90 for the rear end.

I just did mine , used the redline 75w/90ns. Shifts smoother. But i have to be going slower for it to go into first without grinding then before i changed it. Any ideas ? I'm don't know what was in it before. I put the 75W/90 in the rear diff. I noticed alot of sludge on the rear diff drain plug, what would cause that age, contaminated ?

Amazing ! I drained some of the trans oil, mixed in some syncromesh and its shifts perfectly. No more crunch 3>4, no issue with 2>1. Wonder if there will be any long term effects of having some of the wrong oil in the trans. Cant be much worse then all the gear grinding and crunching.
