with 101K miles on the car i've noticed that clutch slipping in 3/rd and 4/th - i guess it's about time to replace the clutch. local Subaru wants $1500, plus $700 for the cam belts (maint says 105K miles) i have changed many clutches in the past but not in a Subaru nor AWD system. Questions: Is this something that can be done in a home garage? Are any "special" tools required? Recommendations on who can do this? thanks, david
Everything can be done in a home garage, including this install. It takes a bit of time, but there a few members here that can do it. I would do it, but only for money, because this install sucks.
wow.... I just got home from the shop 10 minutes ago. The new clutch is awesome, but I won't be anywhere near a clutch install for a while... I've had my fill for a while
