Anyone have any good/bad details about the Cobb short ram intake?

Forget that, If it just makes it sound louder and makes power a bit smoother, i'd rather just remove my snorkus. Anyone have any details, like instructions on how to remove the snorkus?

I am going to be nice and give you a hint. In the top right hand corner is a "search" button. Click on it and in the keyword field type the words "snorkus removal". You will see a thread called DIY Intake Silencer (aka Snorkus) Removal.

I would not waste time or money on an intake unless you are shooting for big HP numbers...IMO

I really think until you increase the size of the actual inlet on the turbo, you are not gaining a whole lot. That is one of the advantages of going rotated is being able to run a 3" or 4" inlet to the turbo. This really lets the turbo breath a lot better. The factory system seems pretty efficient with most stock location turbos. If you want to smooth things out, maybe get a turbo inlet tube or something. There will probably be more benefit from that than most of the intakes on the market.

I have the cobb short ram with the cobb air box on my 05sti... can't tell you if i gained much power from it but like you said it did smooth out my air flow and you can really hear the turbo now. But unless you are atleast looking to tune ur car i wouldnt bother wit an intake.

If you are not going with a big turbo as Mike said, there is really no benefit to an intake.

If you still want to do an intake for the sound, make sure the intake keeps the same diameter piping as the stock airbox. In the past, only the Injen and the APS kept the same diameter piping. This may have changed since then.

Also, you would be much better off with a Cold Air Intake as opposed to a Short Ram. The Short Ram sits on top of the engine bay and will basically just suck in hot air, which will reduce the benefit even more. With a Cold Air, you are pulling cold air from the wheel wells which will net you slightly more power, maybe an HP or 2.
