Well its hot out there  But the car is coming along slowly. Got the suspension, break lines and fuel lines in. Here are some pics. Dan
damn..you must have a lot of time on your hands to build a car from scratch dan. I bet its going to be sweet when its done!
man, I am jealous... my kit car came as a bare chassis, with no instructions, no hardware or anything else. I need to source all the parts myself. Best of luck with it! -- Brian
Yeah the kit came with everything minus the drivetrain, wheels and tires. So it's pretty complete. But it should be after about 22k lol Dan Brian what kind of kit did you get again? Dan
Don't want to threadjack, but I put up a webpage for the start of a build diary: http://www.locost7.net/ should look like a lotus super-7, but utilize the s2000 drivetrain. Best of luck with your build, and I hope to see you post more pictures of the progress. I love the whole kit car building thing. -- Brian
Which kit did you get? My father in law is looking at the FFR kit. I am sure he would like some input on the kit if this is the same one you got. I think he is looking to start building in the next month or so.
You can move it if you would like Alex Or I will just post whore here lol. Doesnt matter to me. Crashtke. I got the www.hurricane-motorsports.com kit. It is much more accurate of a body. Has a good owners forum, not visible to the public and just really good customer service. The kit comes really complete. FFR is a good kit, but I do not like the bodies, because they are not very accurate. Once you get to know cobra's you can spot one a mile away. The bodies require alot more work I think. But still FFR has been doing it a long time and make a good product. Both cars are reproductions so it's kind of hard to get on the "purists" kick lol. Dan
Thanks for the link Dan, I sent a copy to my father in law and it has him thinking now. I really like the fact that with that kit you don't have the hassle of a donor car.
I visted the Factory Five shop when I lived up in New England. They are good people. But I see the benefit of not having to source parts from a donor car. I think I would go with a daytona anyways so the body thing would not be sucha big deal for me. You are living the dream building one yourself though! Good luck with the buildup.
Looks good man, I've got a friend that lives in Travelers Rest, SC thats building building a Cobra kit car. He was telling me about the wild looks he was getting when he had it out without the body on one day. He said they call that the "Go Kart" I believe, when it doesn't have its shell on?
