yeah, pink slipstreams... should be interesting looking :)

I was Javid's 04 STi with 17x9 and 255/40-17 tires on it the other day, but he had done the 05 hub swap and rolled the fenders in the back. He said that they sell a hub swap kit.

2 out of 4 wheels were painted. Going to do the other set today, and then clear coat them all once they are dry.

Here are a couple of pics:

The lighting is a bit off in the pics, and in person, the color looks more like this:

This guy named Colin did it with his 05 and he got some good results in AS. Besides my new hobby seems to be buying tires ;)

Why not order the paint through Subaru or have a shop match the paint weight.

Well, the first set will be some 255/40-17 ADVAN Neova's which is the largest size they make the 17" Neova in and it is actually the same as a Kumho or Goodyear 275 width (section was ~10.3 and tread was 10.0 IIRC). After the Neovas I will likely try some 275 RA-1s and myabe some 275 710s. Wheels should be in at the end of this week.

The 17x10s are actually a supra rear fitment that has a deeper dish and curved spokes (compared to the standard FN01C-Rs like my 17x9"s). I will post pics this weekend....

Nice. I have the Neova 255/40-17 on my evo now on 17x9 wheels and love them. Here are a couple of pics:

Will be interesting to see them on 17x10 :)

    What about the 275/40-17 RT-615?

I have the 615s in 255 on the 9"'s right now... the 275 615s will also be another option for the 10".... I need to make friends with a C5 racer (front tire is 275/40-17 for many classes).

How do you like the neovas? How do they compare to an MX or the 615s? If for some strange reason you want some race rubber, I have some 'shaved' RA-1s 255/40-17 that need a home... wonna trade :)

The car's handling felt kinda heavy since they were SOOOOO sticky. There is some slight rubbing in the back but since I don't plan on tracking it I am not concerned.

man, the 2 stacks right next to each other says it all. have you driven with them yet? can you feel a big improvement?

  47. javid

nice! "felt kind of heavy" could be the taller gearing... I didn't notice it until we pulled the 275s off and ran a 245/40 which is almost an inch shorter...

  48. BelvnAWD

    BelvnAWD I'm Vin, Bell-Vin...

And, most likely, there is a weight addition on each wheel with that much more rubber....

I drove it around a bit last night around town, but just normal driving. The first autocross for them will be the 19th and then we can see how it works out. We should be using the Victos on the 18th and the v710 on the 19th.

The combination is actually a little lighter than the stock wheel and stock tire. The v710 275/40-17 weighs 25lb each, while the re070 weighs 27lbs (according to tirerack specs). The wheels are almost identical in weight.
