Sound off, I want a new one, just seein whats good, what works, and what wont bankrupt me. 90psi cfm, tools used, and cost appreciated. Tired of the old breaker bar sometimes.

    Thanks.

Ive got a 60gal snap-on compressor in my garage. I think its 11.5cfm it cost $1800 tho. I run all my sanders and paintguns off it with no problem and they use a ton of air

check northern tools. they had a campbell hausfeld 60gal for pretty cheap, $500 or so IIRC

    115cfm in a 60gal compressor? uhhh.... sure you don't mean 11.5 scfm?

Yup alive lol. Ok yeah I have been looking at sears, harbor, and northern. Unsure what I should be looking at as a minimum for gallons. Mainly for impact wrench use for suspension, and some harder bolts. I know Id like 4.0-5.0 cfm @ 90psi. But thats about it.

if it were me, (and I've been looking)

    I would buy this:
    http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_200365168_200365168

    or this:
    http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/...m_sp=Xsells-_-CMIO-_-Product Page&cm_vc=C5201

both are great brands. free shipping too. don't get an oil less, they are way too noisy. be sure to get an inline regulator and filter. I plan on putting mine in the basement workshop and plumbing a cast iron line up to the garage. both will require 220V single phase, I am assuming that won't be a problem for you to wire up

that ingersoll-rand will do circles around anything you will get at sears, snap on, etc. those things are tough, industrial compressors. we have one as a backup at work (to open the pneumatic valves before the big compressors come online). IR makes our centrifugal compressors at work (think giant two stage turbocharger). 500HP motor driven, about 2200CFM each

    13.5cfm @140psi > 10.3 @135psi

    although $630 > $1800

not sure all the features of the IR but the interior of the snap-on compressors are coated so that they wont rust from the inside out. They cost more but they are amazing compressors and VERY quiet and will last a long time

just need to blow the tank down occasionally as with any air receiver. $1800 is hard to swallow for a lot of people for a home compressor

edit: looks like the campbell is 110V

very true. I wouldnt blow a ton of $$$ on one if its for occasional use. I use mine daily so I wanted to buy one that will last a long time.

Yeah yall got some hoss a$$ compressors, I would only use occasionally for a very stubborn bolt. Usually still rely on a ol breaker and sockets for most.

Hate to break it to you but the breaker bar often times gets the bolt off that the compressor won't...that is even when I worked in shops with $5000+ mega compressors. But it really is handy for just zipping stuff off. I got my personal one from walmart for like $150 and it has worked great for just stuff around the house and has the same ratings and volume as the ones that went for $300+ at like home depot and lowes.
