I wasn't sure where to put this.

I need some custom washers fabricated. Does anyone know a machine shop that could handle that?

Actually spacers, it is a long story.

They will be used in between the front bushings on the lower control arms to fill a gap between the bushing and the crossmember...so they need to be strong. I am currently using a stack of washers, but I would feel safer with a solid piece of metal there.

Here is a picture of the gap.

yeah...I downloaded their gui last week.

They only have limited thickness options, and I need a specific thickness.

well, they can machine anything you want. it doesn't have to be a preset washer. just start off with a rod with the correct diameter/thickness and mill a hole through it.

they can make it, guaranteed. you didn't try hard enough :)

...you are right, I only spent about 3 mins in the tutorials. I just went through the video tutuorials, and a few seconds later I had my design ready!

Emachine shop can do the job for the low low cost of $177.00...

I know that custom fabrication is not cheap, but I had no idea. I was thinking more a long the lines of the $30.00 neighborhood, maybe $50.

hrm that's weird. it also depends a LOT on which type of machining process you choose, and the material.

that seems pretty steep. what process did you choose? I can ask a guy at work if he can make it for me if you give me the dimensions. we have a full machine shop at the brewery. I imagine you want stainless?

I tried it with Stainless Steel and 6061 Aluminum. SS was about $3 more expensive.

The machine I chose was the CNC Mill.

is he working on a saturday?
