Is this just a WRXatlanta suround or does it have numbers on it too? If so I would definetly be interested!
yeah i was thinking a wrxatl logo and whatever auto-X # you have.....can someone give me their # for a proof?...not sure how many digits, letters it is etc....is there a standard size for these? EDIT....I guess i could make a wrxatl surround with a dry erase front and the user could just write in their #.....would that be easier?....not sure if #'s change or are they pretty much the same for the season? **as you can tell i don't auto-X sorry
Yeah, you register for a number pre-season and it is yours throughout that. I'm either in STX or STU now, I'm not sure. 13 STU or 13 STX
so the plate would say "13 stu"....sorry about the copious number of questions but i want to get all the info i can before i start a proof...thanks
I could be down for this!!! I'll look up the rules on number size...Though, I have two sets of old ones we could measure...
I have the cut file for the one I use. It's ready for the sticker shop guy to load and cut. Here it is: http://www.wincom.net/trog/stu/Solo_cut.pct Looks like this.....
I'm interested. Just a note, the SCCA rulebooks states that numbers need to be atleast 8 inches high with a 1.25 inch stroke. Class letters need to be atleast 4 inches high with a .75 inch stroke. My number is 12 STX
I need some Magnets made up Scott. I am SM 17. Also, can you get me 2 magnets cut for bumper stickers.
sorry not yet....work has been crazy again unfortunately, just so we are on the same page, our process is a little different than the usual stickers shop or whatever, we would have to hand-cut whatever shapes, we don't have a router cutter. I will be done with work early tonight so i will have something up this evening....thanks to everyone for your info!!!! especially letter and stroke specs....
I would like to see something similar to Trey's. That's the most professional looking at least. I'm also going to need to work something out with you or Sakari to get WRXatlanta magnets made up. Most likely, I will just have the decals made, and then applying them to magnets.
first try....for some reason i lost the nice red i had....it's supposed to be red...at the top, not faded red.
i can defintiely tweak colors to match what each individuals wants unless we can all agree on one scheme.....that would make it more uniform....i guess we will see....i do have the colors for the WRB and yellow, same colors as banners....if we want to incorporate those...I agree with alex that a different color for our logo would look better.
The one I linked is straight from the Street Mod website and they prefer everyone in SM use that style, so it remains consistant across the country. http://www.wincom.net/trog/stu/
In order to provide a uniform "look" that identifies Street Modified cars right off, and to give our class a cohesiveness that helps build class identity, Street Modified is going to use a standardized numberboard. This is not manditory, but if you're running a Street Modified car, we really, really, really want you to do this. The better we look (as a group) and the more unified we look, the more likely we are to get extra goodies from Denver and the press. .....sounds like a Denver thing.....doesn't say we can't have a ATL style as well..... :coolugh:
i liked the diamond one you did. one thing to consider is that people like myself will be running in Stock D along with other classes. i'll need # plates when i can register for a real #.
Sweet Design, especially if that is a rough draft, or quick though. Whenever you are ready to make them I am down. We can work out colors when you are ready.
i'd go with a unique design for us... at the local level, there most people have simple numbers and letters... i'd love a unique WRXatlanta style for us... ill: could u design something cool in a style similar to the banner u designed for us? i really liked the banner design
That's what i'm shootin for....i used some design elements from our banner.... same fonts ...i know alex liked that font we agreed on {he picked out} before so i didn't try to stray.....keep it simple but custom....i know there's a few design peeps on here so if you have constructive criticism....please chime in...it's all about having an impressive showing....and Brian if it's good enough for your EVO than it's good enough for your CRX.....
I agree with the Blue and Yellow, obviously, I have a blue car. For the people who do not have a WRB, you could always go with something to match a color scheme for your car. Milo, I don't think Blue and Yellow would look right on your car, you should go with a Black, Silver, White, Gunmetal color scheme.
So does this mean that people other than wayne, milo, jason, trey and I will be attending autoxs this season?
i may try and start autoxing this year too, it will be with a different car than the rx-8 :keke::keke:
yes sir......I never do personal jobs at work so i have a favor to cash in.....and i thought it was going to be the RA pictures but that kinda fizzled out so I still have a "personal job" freebie.....the $20 is to cover the material costs...hopefully i won't have to ship many of these....I could have these by the 555 party, that way everyone who wants one will most likely be there....does everyone agree on this latest design?......I'm pretty satisfied with it.... EDIT: Alex this color scheme will be exactly like the banner colors, does this clash with your car color?......if you could cross reference that for me that'd be super
i like it... if we keep the same color and design for everyone, it will give us a 'clubby' appearence i'll buy a pair from you... SM 9
cool, I'll post everyone who's interested in the first post with their info and i guess i'll leave this open for the rest of the week and I'll go to print next week sometime...
with all this being said: i'm a little unclear with "what" my class is. there is a difference in the soloatlanta site and the SCCA rule book PDF. i'm stock, so i'm Stock D, per SCCA. but i just don't get "what" i am on the solo site. sorry, this might not be the place for this question.
maybe someone can answer that here....i personally have no clue...sorry, let me know when you figure it out though so we can get ya signed up...
The rule of stock class is that you can replace anything that's "wearable" ie shocks, tires, brake pads, seat belts, air filters. There are two exceptions to this rule, front sway bar and axle back exhaust. You can run R-compounds as well, since tires are "wearable". Any cosmetic changes ie de-badging, stripping the interior or changing your spolier will technically take you out of stock class, however I don't think anybody in atlanta region will care if your car is de-badged. Right now I'm running a 32 mm diameter front bar, perrin axle back exhaust, kumho v700s (hopefully 710s soon), hawk HP+ pads and a schroth quick fit harness for AS, which should be all legal. I'm sure other people will chime in with explanations on SM, STU and STX classes.
All I know when it comes to car classing is that if you change boost levels you are automatically in SM. Now, the thing is that on the Regional level, they don't inspect your car. If you are slightly outside the requirements for any given class, but are not constantly winning, you should haev nothing to worry about. If you are consistantly #1 in class, and are outside, somebody may eventually say something. Randy, don't worry about your class right now. When you start coming to the Auto X Events, you will be able to run in Novice for 2 events. While down there, we can talk to Joel or somebody to find out what class you are supposed to run in. Can't wait, first event of the season is less than a month away.
