Hi All, I want to start getting some information together regarding to logger runs. To better get an understanding of Timing, Correction Values, IDC's and more. Moose, I know you got one, any one else. I would like to start to get these together. Help! :)

Please post here regarding topics of datalogging. I will expand and discuss more once we start getting some logs in.

    Thanks!

Well, I am familiar with TARI, so wanted to post a couple things here for those not in the know.

It's a free piece of software. Very capable, and easy to use; you can either read values live (please don't try this while driving!) or use the defrost button to start/stop a log of the parameters you select. The cable you need would be an OBD-II to serial converter. I use the AccessPort cable, but the guys at OpenECU.org have developed a cable that should work as well. Figure on $60-70 for such a beast. Still fairly cheap since the software's free!

One thing to keep in mind then datalogging is to choose only the parameters you really need. The bandwidth of OBDII is somewhat limited, so if you try to log a boat load of parameters you may not get updates more than once every 1-2 seconds. Just pick the more important ones and you'll get a more useful and frequently updated stream.

I also think we need to get some good information on reading WGDCs (wastegate duty cycles) and what they mean.

And to add one more thing... Jason, since you are working on a logger, what are the chances of adding some type of hookup for wideband O2 sensor and aftermarket EGT sensor? (I'd be willing to help you work on the interface for these.)

Nah just working on obtaining a logger and cable to use :)

I am interested in the WDC's logs as well as IDC's+Timing.
