he does it with a razor blade. Be carefull Im sure its easy to scratch. And the $10 bucks included waxing and high speed buffing
I think I may just let the car sit out in this nice warm sun and pull out the floss and go for it. LOL
thats the best way. use floss. and a lil heat from the heat gun or hair dryer. a guy did mine when i had to get a rear clip done on my car. he did it with a razor and nicked my paint a lil. so if youve never tried it before do the floss for sure. not trin to jack a thread. welcome to the bare ass crew married04wrx. lookin good:bigthumb:
yeah I definately stole my mom's hairdryer last summer and went to town on my hatch. This was right about a week after I got the car. I used dental floss and then a little bit of lighter fluid to clean up the adhesive. Then I did a nice detail over the whole car.
I took the SUBARU off, but left the WRX. Used the hairdryer/dental floss method, and the letters were off in about 2 minutes. The pain in the ass was getting all of the adhesive off. I ended up using bug and tar remover (because im a pussy and didnt want to hurt the paint). Took a while, but now it just looks awesome
looks nice john! my father was debadge the STi for me taking only the SUBARU off. he mentioned fishing string instead of floss. is floss better? i'll let him know if otherwise. thanks! shane
I used floss/hairdryer when I took the STI from my old trunk before I traded. I then went to home depot and bought a 1.5" plastic drywall knife for like 50 cents. Use WD40 to loosen the adhesive and the stuff scrapes off in 2 min. Buff and wax and good as new.
To detail my wifes 7 passenger SUV he charged $55.00 He did an awsome job. Im talkin inside and out it looked as good as the day we bought it:bigthumb:
mine had ended up being colored differently under the lettering due to sunlight. took some good buffing and waxing to finally get it out and evenly colored Craig
