I either want to get perrin tbe or turbo xs tbe with standard muffler. i know the perrin is really loud. im going for the stock look so both look good to me. im just having a hard time choosing one of them. it is for an 06 sti.

JIC makes a near stock looking exhaust (at least the muffler). Its also one of the quietest free flowing exhauts out there. Prodrive's pieces also look very stock, at least the round one. Personally, I would never buy anything TurboXS, they're welds and parts quality cannot compare to everyone elses. And I'm almost certain theres will be louder than perrin.

i love my perrin tbe, but it would be quieter if it was not catless. you may want to get the perrin catback, with a catted downpipe. Keith(lostinthewoods) is going this route, you may want to pm him.

SCOOBYSPORT dual tip is as stock looking as they get, and the sound is mmm...mmm...good.

Scoobysport Dual Tip wouldn't look stock on an STI, maybe on a 04 WRX cause that stock has dual tips. Also learn from my experience, if you get the Scoobysport be prepared to have to wait up to 5 months after ordering.

1984 has the borla hush and his is fairly quiet and stock looking as well. I must say the perrin sound amazing though. Rollingtrip and lostinthewoods both have it and they scream.

I would go with the JIC or the Prodrive if you want a stock looking exhaust...

no go ahead and get the tbe. i installed tbe, fuel pump, and an ebcs before i got ecutek, it will save you some tuning fees.

I actually ended up getting my Perrin from TopSpeed. They just happened to have one here locally. You may want to give them a buzz.

what about a helix dp w/cat to an invidia catback? i'm thinking of this set up. not the N1 (too loud for me), but the other one.

i have to get something that fits like stock due to the rear diffuser on the 06 rear.

the few turboXS turbo backs i have seen on STis have downpipes that hang REAL low under the car... just worried about hitting speed bumps on a lowered car... any TXS owners experience this?

The turbo xs stealthback is also a great way to make power while keeping the exhaust note down.

As I said before, I do not recommend any TurboXS products. If you want to keep the closes to stock, go with prodrive. They're build quality will be above that of OEM and they retain many stock features. I mentioned the JIC because Scott Shannon's car (400+ HP STi) had the exhaust and its just about as quiet at idle as a stock sti. Its also quite reserved most of the way through the powerband until you really step on and it comes to life -- JIC type d2 spartan.
