Bascially at idle I get this odd metal rattling sound. I hope its not my engine knocking, and just something else rattling. Course I don't know what it would feel like if it was knocking. RPM's don't fluctuate much. I stuck my head under the hood but I can't hear anything over the valves tapping.

    Do you have any EM?

no, but I don't have any performance mods either. Only thing I've done is modify the intake system to behave like stock without the silencer in the fender.

I dont think the stock ecu will throw a cel for knock. I could be wrong though.

Do you have an aftermarket dp? If so, it is more than likely that knocking against part of the frame. If you have an aftermarket catback the resonator could be knocking against part of the underbody and some mufflers are prone to rattle on the hangers.

hmm. thats a good idea. I think I will get under there and make sure everything is tight.

I don't have any exhaust mods right now. Thread probably doesnt belong here, but it was about as close to an engine sub-forum as we have here.

Its fine, tightening it all up or better yet hop underneath the car when its on and see if you can find the rattle then.
