Okay, I have a set of crappy pioneer 6.5 speakers that I have installed in the place of the front door speakers. I thought, even though they were cheapo speakers they would have to be better than the stockers, but to my surprise they sound like ass! I have an Alpine 9856 HU, so its putting out more power than the stock HU, but could it be under driving the pioneers? They claim like a peak of 30w rms...they are two way, not component...

Shouldn't be. I have never seen that happen. If I make it out Saturday, we can try to figure it out. Any aftermarket speakers shoudl sound better than stock. Pioneers, even cheapos are still pretty good speakers.

Could it be polarity. Do you have all speakers connected the same way? (Wire with the line going to + or - on each speaker) If the speakers are out of phase, and you have sensitive ears, that may be the problem.

    Sounds like a plan...

Yeah, I was going to suggest the same... if they sound really 'thin' you probably have issues with the phase. Try fading/balancing to the extremes and see if it makes a difference in how they sound.
