hey guys i recently bought a 1999 Eclipse GS for very cheap to flip. It turns over fine but wont start. i didnt hear the fuel pump turning on. Replaced the pump and the relay, still know fuel. I also then discovered im getting no spark. Does this have all the symptoms of a fried computer? All fuses are good so im kinda lost. Could it also be a cam sensor? but then the pump still isnt turning on. Hope yall can help.

ECU's are notorious for leaking at the caps. Pull ECu and see if you smell rotten fish type smell. If so ECU is fried. What relay did you replace? There is a relay behind the radio that controls the fuel and the spark....mine went dead when I swapped my 1.8L to a 2.0L turbo....that took forever to find.

thanks coolrex, im super unfamiliar with dsm, from the research i did the fuel relay, MFI relay, and ASD relay were on the fire wall next to the brake master cylinder. can you tell me the easiest way to get to the relays behind the radio? would any of those relays cause my spark issue? THE ECU is in the engine bay next to the fuse box right?

Is your car the 4g63 non turbo or the 420A neon motor?

Not too sure about the 2g Eclipse but my first gen Eclipse's ECu was behind the radio itself. You had to pull the radio to get to it. That relay was under the Ecu mount.

its a 420a, i pulled the radio and there were two relays, one was for the radio anthena and the other is a mystery at this point im trying to track down a matching one. no computer back there either. but i got my fingers crossed this is the bad relay.

new development, the relay i thought may have been the right one turns out to be the power door locks relay. back to the drawing board i guess.
