(sung along to queen song) *Dun Dun Dun* "another one bites the dust" Well this evening i was enjoying myself trying to get over this horrible cold I have when i decided to go home and get some rest, little did i know i would still be up near 4 hours later. you may ask yourself "myself, why is he still awake if he wanted to get some sleep" dont worry kiddies i will tell you. so im getting on to the bufford highway connector from peachtree steet to make my way toward on 85 north. as i get to the bottom of the ramp, something, i assume a dog, jumped from the brush on the side of the road :eek2: so instead of hitting it like i should i cut the wheel to the left. I wasnt going extremely fast maybe 45-50 but i guess i cut the wheel to hard and i began to skid . i thought to myself oh shit this is it, when i saw a truck directly where my car was about to go. luckily I didnt hit the truck, everything is alright, im home free. well then life decided to speed back up as i went smashing into the concrete median on passenger side, i really dont have any idea how the car did a 180 but ill tell you someone was looking out for me. so now my car is sitting in some tow service yard and i have to get it towed to a mechanic or get the adjuster to go see it there, ill try and get some good pictures tomorrow. heh i dont know why, probably the adrenaline, i just had to make a joke about my poor dead car sitting on the side of the road. i said "for wanting to go widebody, i sure did do a good job of thining the car down" buwahahahaha, my poor car, but funny none the less. I will end this by letting everyone know that i am ok, a little bruised in from the seat-belt and side bolster but i clearly live to tell the tale. A couple pictures Alex took today @ the yard; more here (wrxatl.com/misc/alex%20wreck/).
Glad you're alright man, and glad I could make it out there to make sure you made it through everything. I bet when you hit the bump at the bottom of the onramp, the car bounced out of its slide. The front wheels then caught and went in the direction of the wheel, while the rear's were still sliding behind the car pre-bump. Then you moved the wheel sorta right I guess and slid across 2 lanes into the median, front right first and then pivot back right, leaving you pointed slightly into the oncoming traffic from the median side of the hwy. Here are the pics I took...
shit man i'm glad you're alright: most important thing. Hope you're able to get up and running again with a scoob -Alex
sorry hear about your ride dude, that really sux. i'm glad to hear you're okay. so, i'm wondering what happened to the dog?
damn im glad your alright alex! suck about your car man. atleast your light hearted about the situation and relize a car is only a car and your still alive! thats what is most important!
Hey man, sorry to hear about the accident! If they total you, at least you will get a free 2.5l and brake upgrade by going for an 06...Glad you're okay, thats the important thing....
Damn dude that really sucks, glad you are okay..... Not to sound mean or anything but I do, you jerked the wheel. That's a big no no at any speed. Smooth inputs only.
well the thing is is that it wasnt like i just slammed the wheel, what most likely happened was there is apparently a sizeable drop where i swerved so i cut the wheel, front wheels dropped down and gained slight traction and the the rear end slid around. thanks for all the concern guys :wavey: oh and the dog, i must have missed it, because there were no signs of it on the road.
dang man, that really sucks. i know the feeling, felt like absolute crap after wreckin her. glad to hear you are ok though, hard to replace people. hopefully your insurance will work out as mine did and you will come out on top. i see the blues on in the pic, no tickets were there?
i got a ticket for failure to maintain lane, eh, the officer said i will probably get off, i sure hope i dont have to pay any money, that would only add insult to injury.
yea you should be able to get outta that ticket..i mean come on you were dodging something in the road...i am very happy that you are ok man!!! :wiggle:
That sucks, but good luck getting it all back together (with the wide body). Your gf wasnt in the car was she?
Glad you're okay. Looks like a gnarly crash, so it's a good thing you're okay. Any word from insurance yet?
dude, im sorry, i didnt hear bout this till now. :O. im glad you're ok dude, and if heather was w/ you i hope shes fine as well. jesus dude, i hope everything works out for you.
I am glad that you are OK, Alex... I am sorry that this had to happen to you... It seems like there has been a run on accidents in our club...Be safe.. Take Care.. Mark
Just got on the forum after a few days away to read this. I hope it's all going ok and things are moving along with the car. I know it's a pain to deal with the insurance company sometimes. Glad to hear you're ok though.
thanks for all the thought guys, now the only pain i have to deal with is the damn insurance company. :gfight: :gaysex:
yeah, i plan on getting another bugeye, but depending on the deal i can get on an 06 i might try and get one.
dang sorry to hear about the car I would be chasing the dog down with the tire iron if it wasn't dead easier to claim comprehensive with an animal body on hand :\ my father works in insurance, he says hit the animal, and if it's a deer, hit is less. sometimes hitting them causes probs of it's own.
