If I buy one of the XS power intercooler will it match up with the regular 02 wrx piping and all or will I need anything else? I know it won't fit exaclty where the bolts are though. And also could I use the stock Blow off valve instead of the one that comes with it?
My buddy Daniel just installed that TMIC on his car. Had to get longer couplings for the IC to TB part as the IC sits higher up. He used his stock BOV.
There's a new top mount on ebay from 'Dynasty Auto' that has gotten some very favorable comments from the STi group. Supposedly fits a *lot* cleaner than most other ebay ones, and one STi owner picked up 2mph at the track with one.
beware sometimes ebay IC need to be majorly fabcriated one of my friends some of u know DANNY he brought and he had to modify it majorly but he works for bodyshop so he knew what to do.. if u know someone who knows what they r doing then go for it.. i prefer the turbo XS FMIC which will be after ,AP, CAI, REC BOV, THEN FMIC with bigger turbo
Where did he get the longer couplings....you think sti piping would work or did you friend have an STI ? Oh and Jake if your gonna run an AP you might want to put your stock BOV on there....
There are some reviews for these types of IC on clubwrx and nasioc if you go and check them out. The review even includes all details on installation. There are some serious gains, and they are even better than the STI IC. The whole bar and plate design is a big deal as to not reduce the psi from inlet to outlet of the IC. As far as FMIC goes, I like power below 4k.
Of course....my point exactly. EVERYONE needs meth injection :keke: Also Daniel got his couplings from Ebay. It came with T-bolts as well and they work really well. He had to trim it a little but it works.
Check out my comparison thread, http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6334 . I havent heard much about the Dynasty Auto tmic, I'll research it a bit now.
