  1. Ive never even looked at ecutek, but just bought an Sti and was curious as to if you reset the CEL will it mess with the tune? I know with my old WRX i just reset the CEL with the AP and all was fine, but to reset it now Ill have to either do a hard reset of have auto zone do it. Just want to make sure before I go have it done now the the CEL is on and the Cruise light is blinking.

You can reset without any problems. Why did the CEL come on? Go buy a $10 vagcom cable on ebay and do it yourself.

Ecutek doesn't have a realtime map like the Cobb. So reset away.

As said above, you can reset the ECU without losing your EcuTek tune.

  5. Good deal. That was the only thing about this car that I didnt like, I was spoiled with the Access port and if I ever decided to swap EM i may go back that route. Who knows, all I know Im glad I finally got the much waited and wanted Sti.

I did EcuTek years ago before the Cobb Accessport was in existence. At the time, EcuTek was the way to go. If I ever had the need to redo my EM, I would definitely go with Cobb now. I wish I could go back in time and wait for the Cobb AP instead of paying for my EcuTek License and tune. Don't get me wrong, EcuTek has served me well, but it just doesn't compare to the Accessport anymore.

  7. The only reason I dont switch now is the tune on the car is fine, just every now and then it will throw the CEL for the O2 sensor. The CEL isnt bad just had the extra light on the dash.
