My mom was wondering if there is an Ecutek reflash for the '05 Legacy GT??? She wants to get it for her's and im going to get it for mine as well. We want to get it done at SoG. Is the price $850??? And what all does that include?? Also i have the Helix CEL fix wired into my rear o2 sensor and i have a 2.2k ohm resistor wired into the EGT sensor. Are the correct signals from these sensors needed to properly tune my car??? If so i will need to undo these mods before i get the reflash.
Scott mentioned to me the other day that he has tuned a few LGT's. I'm sure the price is the same for LGT's as WRX's/STi's. Price includes reflash and up to 2 hours of Scott's labor. Typically a tune takes around 2 hours.
i was actually just in the car with him the other day as he was tuning a LGT, it's no problem for him. As far as pricing, 2 hours of tuning are included and i hear usually a third one is needed at 120 an hour, ECUtek for a little less than a grand. Great deal really when you're picking up about 40 to the wheels, and a nicely polished machine.
considering that the legacy gt ecu has a SIGNIFICANT delay switching from closed loop to open loop, it would be a good idea to get the flash and have it fixed... my brother is probably going to do that even before adding mods
ok cool, i called scott today, he is supposed to call me back to scedule an appointment. i think he is gonna schedule me for the 22nd. Also, i think my mom is gonna go with a drop in filter and possibly a catback instead of ecutek (does anyone know of a decent catback that IS NOT TOO LOUD, keep in mind it is for my mom, no crazy NurSpec's or anything like that, also for a reasonable price if possible).
That is so cool that your mom would be into mod'ing her car. My poor mom drives one of those ugly ass aztec's. 8(
loud is relative... my brother is going to go with the stromung whenever he's saved enough money... if ur mom hasn't bought one yet, u can listen to his and see if u like it
AVO is working on a cheaper axleback to their more expensive catback. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14938 I'll be shopping for exhaust shortly. It seems as the legacy market is just starting to hit critical mass with more and more items being designed, imported, etc.
Yeah she is pretty crazy, haha. I think i accidently created a beast from the minute i told her she should get one! But its cool, i just want to make sure the mods dont sacrifice any driveability cause after all she is still a mom, wouldnt want her ripping through the church parking lot on sunday! Dude those mufflers look SICK!! She also likes the Blitz touring mufflers, tho they are like 750 bucks. I think she is just gonna wait and see the improvement of ECUtek on mine and then decide what she is gonna do to hers. Thanks for all the insight fellas!
Yeah i like the stromung mufflers but they look kinda wierd (like theyre too wide for the bumper cutouts IMO) I wish the tips fit a little better, other than that i like them as well. I havent heard any sound clips tho, other than the Cobb's, which i dont think have been released for sale yet. I do like them tho!
I have the newer model, I forget the name...but the 2.5 inch has a sweet tip, fits perfect and sounds great, nice deep rumble, not too loud....
Not offhand, PM Porter or Doug from Topspeed and they can give you all the details...Thats where I got most of my parts both purchased / installed....
Awesome, thanks for the info guys! Hopefully ill be getting ecutek on the 22nd if Scott is free that day, he is supposed to call me back to confirm the date. What kind of horsepower and torque numbers can i expect, just roughly?? my performance mods are: hks catback helix dp turboxs up aps cold air intake Also will ecutek be able to take advantage of the cold air intake?? i know that they dont really do anything to a wrx with no engine management, but i was just curious if ecutek could make use of the extra air??? And can ecutek block out catalyst efficiency codes and stuff like that rather than using the wiring CEL fix????
hp within the 230s and torque around 240 would be my guess... dunno much about the APS intake but if its diameter is different from stock, then be prepared for scott asking u to rip it out not sure about the codes
I just bought me a Stromoung catback exhaust for my Legacy GT. $995 from SoG, and it is dual exhaust with offset dual tips. Here is a pic http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14623&highlight=stromung I will post pics after I get it on there, sometime next week. I am getting my reflash on 19th, Scott said I should look at ~ $1000. This will include reflash, roadtune, I also might get an additional dyno run on there. From what I have been told, watch out stock STi's ;-)
Awesome that would be pretty sweet! The intake is 65mm, same as the stock pipe so that should be ok. Does he usually set boost to 18 or 19 psi??
