That's right boys and girls. Our dynos ej20 record. Milo's SUPER-finicky car had a leaking recirc and now makes a REDICULOUS

    340 wlb-ft and 337 whp.

It dynoed poorly last time, we believe due to a long learning curve (and leaky recirc) ;) On it's first pulls it was in the 290's (lower curve here) no tuning, just a few more pulls and our TMIC fan with some room temp water it made the expected 325 wlb-ft and 315 whp:

in case anybody is wondering here is the comparison boost plot showing that the first few pulls in the 290's had the same boost as the 5th+ pull (boost in green):

some of the "sketchiness" of the boost curve is the leaking recirc valve.

His low map at 21 psi peak to 16.5 psi at 7k rpm makes 320+ wlb-ft and 315+ whp consistently.

About to go drive it :D

Ill tell you what the doubters will say, they will say that its a dynapack. They will say that the dynapack reads high. I personally have no idea if it does.

Those are awesome numbers milo. Get ready for a tranny.

I'm sure Milo is much happier now that

    fixed.

Does that mean the Milo's gonna be a ricer and finally get a BOV for his car?

Great numbers, I'll have to get a ride this friday.

I agree 100%. All people are going to say is that it is a Dynopack and that it reads high. People on Naisoc are just haters. I would still post it in the Proven Power forum for the hell of it.

We'll post it when he goes 11's at the track this weekend ;) wait, that would only happen if I let it run the 24 psi that made 362 wlb-ft, and we're just not going to do that.... yet ;)

Milo managed to stay fairly non-ricey by getting the APS 50/50. It does 100% recirc at low-boost lifts, then 50/50 at high boost. It's fairly quiet though...

Yeah I got that same BOV like you recommended Scott and I love it. Not ricey however the rest of the car is, but I have to make the sponsors happy. Once the sponsorship is done I may or may not rip all the graphics off but hey for getting free stuff I can't complain.

BTW Scott I found a bigger pic of the logo and it is now on the door of the car on both sides....big but readable and I actually like it. I think you will like having it on a non-local car ;)

Those rods are only good for a little bit more, your entering into the danger zone.

    Welcome to the club.

Hey, if we start a betting pool on which will go first, the tranny or the rods, maybe we can give Milo a percentage of the proceeds to help pay for it. :)

Oh dont worry the tranny will go first, he is still a good ways from breaking the rods, but with some race gas and a good clutch that tranny is gone.

Besides EJs usally break a ring or ringland before the rods go.

thanks for the compliments guys... im truely happy with the newly acquired power...

im excited about this weekend... im real scared for my tranny so im gonna be careful about how i launch and how i shift... i have never launched my car since the new clutch... it not pucked so i should be able to slip it some...

no race gas for me... i dont think i'd want to push any more power out of it until i can comfortably afford a new block... like matt mentioned, i think the tranny would go first so i need to save up for that too...

i usually cruise around on the low boost map... it makes 320 wtq and 315+whp... so its fun but not as demanding... also i stay out of the meth during daily driving so i should be relatively ok

scott: thanks again for all the time u spent on it yesterday

I'm jealous Milo. You and your switchable mapped bug-eye ;)

I just got off the phone with Scott and looks like we are gonna get the power but keep it safe as this is my daily as well. At least it'll be more than I have now! Keep in mind with my current power level I had a 12.5 while spinning the tires through 1st and 2nd like crazy and only pulling a 1.93 60'. Soft Federal tires and 32 degree weather = hard non-gripping tires. I think there is a low 12 in the car now but I just can't find out with the puck clutch now. No more draggin for me but I may do a wishful pass or two and take my chances to get the numbers after the tune Friday ;)

We'll see ya around in two days.

He's pretty easy on the tranny... he's got a "good" clutch it's not too grabby so hopefully he won't break the tranny.

Really what needs to be watched for is wheel hop at WOT like at an auto-X or something. That hopping will break the gears...

A "conservative" tune that makes power will sometimes just "wear out" the rings. They don't break or anything, but compression drops / blow-by increases until there is so much boost in the block that it blows the dipstick out :D

That get's my bet ;) Put me down for $5.

Just fyi, milo's aps bov is barely louder than stock. The Typhoon + stock recirc is louder.

HAHA, blows the dipstick out. That wll happen at 26 lbs on a stock 2.0 liter ask me how I know. I was fortunate enough, that I didnt have to worry about breaking anything, we had already planned on replacing everything. So we tuned it accordingly.

Did you really go 26 psi on a stock ej20???

Yeah made 404 hp and 400 tq.

I'm crazy like that, Want to hear something really scary I drove that on the street for 2 weeks.

I had to talk dan into letting me leave with it, actually it was a fight just to get him to turn it up. I just kept saying "look Dan I have another motor".

Actually I think we made 404hp on 23-24 lbs and then I turned it up to 26psi on the street.

haha that would be a sight to see.

I dont know what you kids are saying about the APS BOV, mine's loud as hell (albeit no RFL). Most people think that it is full atmosphere.

  31. miloman

    miloman Retired Admin

i dont think its louder than stock... the sound is 'crisper' though, if thats even a word... in the end, the car is making more power and not leaking (at least from the recirc)
