Siegel? Anyone? I really don't wanna risk fucking my car up, so if someone wants to come over and walk me through it now that the maps for n/a engines have been released...
Or if someone wants to just tune it that'd be cool too!

i'm wondering the EXACT same thing. i've been following the news on this for us N/A guys pretty closely and will look to have my car tuned within the year, after i have my exhaust finished up. unfortunately i know approximately nothing about how to tune and will need someone who can work with the maps.

if you hear anything keep me in the loop please :sx:

    enginuity=FTL.

    Use EcuFlash FTW.

IIRC there is nothing supporting the older than 2004 N/A ECUs.

I do it. I don't think it reads your ecu though. If you want to check it and make sure that you can see good maps, you can bring it here for tuning...

I just checked openecu. There are no defs for anything older than 2005 for the N/A cars.

    Not entirely.

    Heres what you *COULD* do.

    1. Find wrecked 02~05 WRX, or 05 RS.
    2. Merge wiring harnesses.
    3. Swap into your car, but use your stock engine.
    4. See note below for misc.
    5. Tune by TS.
    6. Done.

Note: If using WRX, you will need to get the WRX crank wheel, and the 04+ cam wheel for SOHC.

If also using WRX, you willneed to retrofit the COP's and all the upper engine electricals on the engine. It gets a little complicated. The all the other supporting engine electricals.

If using 2.5 RS...just swap it all. It'll be easier that way.

that seems like an awful lot of work, and probably a lot of money for the VERY small gains you are going to get off of a 2.5....

Nahh...he'll be going from 145hp 2.2 to a 165hp 2.5, PLUS the gains from tuning and mods...thats right at 190 crank.

Or, with the WRX swap...could just..yaknow...dothe turbopart of the swap and get 230~280 reliably.

Yeah. If I'm going to do a swap it's gonna be a turbo.
