http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/calculatorSelectYear.jsp Check out the link, Hybrids apparently took a big hit and stock WRXs also took a 4mpg avg hit. This is the latest updated figured since 1984 I think. Pretty interesting all the other things they tested on cars.
Wow that is a huge hit on hybrids. Maybe they don't save as much as once thought. Estimates for my car are a bit low. Though I think some of the mods add more mpg.
wow, this is really interesting... s2000, chrysler towne and country get 1mpg less than sti... actually a LOT of cars both sport and regular are within 2-3mpg of the sti... i don't feel nearly as bad about my mpg any more and it is pretty humorous about the hybrids... 10mpg LOSS from las year's ratings. i can just see the smug cloud clearing a little bit.
Man I sooo missed that south park episode. anyone know if that is on youtube? Link it for me? Thanks. Yea it's fun looking through the numbers. I haven't figured out the AC/speed/outside temp all those stats yet. But they finally did a better job of finding ideal MPG speeds and such.
Here is a big article about the state of hybrids http://www.weeklystandard.com/Utilities/printer_preview.asp?idArticle=6598&R=1123CD833 The best part is that the people who buy these are getting tax credits from the government. And apparently its for nothing at all seeing as how they get less mileage than a turbo diesel jetta.
yeah, turbo-diesel ftw... friends living in europe that come over here are like "where the hell are all the diesel options for your car makers?" we just don't get even half of the diesel options that they do. you can pull a lot of tq out of diesel block from what i've heard
