Exhaust options

I need to move up to a 3" catback setup and am looking for something stealthy. I prefer something with a 3.5" tip or dual tip as opposed to a huge angled exhaust.

So far I have found the Borla Hush dual tip but have not been able to find a single tip that isn't too flashy for me. Anyone got any ideas?

Perrin maybe? (they make both dual tip and single)

I've heard sound clips of the Bosal as well and I rmeber it having an quiet amazing rumble (not obnoxious at all).

Edit: Oh yeah, and B&B (I believe they have single and dual as well)

Haha, you have quite a few choices. And there are others out there too...

The new Bosal (the reduced dB one) is a great choice. Oh, and if you think the old dual tip bosal isnt obnoxious, ask Suby1128...he ran my catback when completely catless...it drones pretty badly..actually it drones pretty badly with 3 cats lol.

I dont know how loud you are going for Liquid, but I do love the quality of the bosal, and for the price it is a pretty damn good buy.

The external wastegate is going to be plenty loud so I'd like to keep the off boost exhaust levels down. I'd also like to avoid the "drone" when cruising.

I also forgot one of the important criteria is price. Spending 700 for a catback is not an option. I'd like to be at or under 500.

Well this is one of the few that I've come up with for under 500.

I know there are others, but you'll probably have to find a good deal.

You could get one custom made at a muffler shop. Get a generic 3 inch Magnaflow muffler and have them slap some 3 inch tubing on. I've just got a generic magnaflow axle-back and it's nice and quiet during normal driving but roars when I get on it.

Turbo XS? That is the one I have...with 3" it is pretty quiet compared to some that I have heard, does not drone bad and looks sharp. If you keep the cat, even high flow, it is really quiet. With no cat it is still better than most.

Edit: it looks like mid pipe and axle back would be right around $550 from Oakos.com

I believe that's what he already has, and I'm pretty sure it tapers to 2.5 (which is why he's getting rid of it).

From what I hear the new Bosal doesnt have the droning problem of the old one, and Ill try to find out some for info for you tomorrow

Just switch out the axle back...the midpipe is 3" all the way back. It does taper down at the muffler, but it is 3" all the way back until right before the muffler. TXS makes a 3" but it is quite a bit louder.

on my setup the taper happens at the end of the midpipe. the axel back is 2.5 all the way. thats what lets you run the stock muffler for what they call the "Stealth back"

I found what looks like a 3" version of the Magnaflow TXS uses here

    B&B Dual tip
    Perrin Dual tip
JIC's titanium exhaust is single round tip but not angeld<-- great weight savings

The muffler tips are usually cosmetic only, so base on off the looks for how much attention it will get but not loudness for tip style. As for droning, what you want is a nice and large resonator
