I was driving to work this morning and come up behind this cement trunk, and I hear all kinds of pebbles getting kicked up to my windshield and in the wheel wells, so ofcourse I back off immediately. Apparently I didn't do it fast enough as I hear this loud bang on the side of my car, instantly I knew I kicked up a big one and it ain't gonna be pretty. When I got to work, there are these 2 deep chips (the size/shape of rice) on the passenger door that goes all the way down to the metal  :crying: . So now, i don't know what to do, should I just go get some touch-up paint, or get someone to do it for me. I don't want it to rust. Oh yeah, one final word for the cement truck driver/owners, clean your fucking trucks!

The company will not pay anything out to you, odds are they have a sign on the back of the truck...or they will claim there was a sign asking you to stay back 500 ft (like any heavy utility truck).

I would get some touch up paint and just go to town on it...

It depends which company it is, they are actually liable for objects coming from the truck, if there was all kinds of debris flying off the truck then its their problem. The cement company's that we use for our projects all clean their trucks before they leave any job site, and its because of issues just like this. If you remember who it is call the company and ask for a manager, explain the situation and calmly tell them that you would like for you're repairs to paid for, if they say no politely ask them where and to whom you're attorney should address the letter.

yeah, i wanted to get their plates down and what not, but I didn't want to risk getting even more crap (like a huge chunk of concrete) thrown on my car if I get closer. Also, i don't think it would've been that bad if the damn trunk didn't have a back wheel that was wobbling like a drunk retard. I'll just look at it as lesson learned, and I just bought some rallyarmor mudflaps to make me feel better.

Tape it right away, I haven't had and luck with touch up paint or I just don't have any skills.. Someone will probably do it pretty cheap.

I am sorry to hear that Steve...I had a bad experience like that when I was stationed in FL with a dump truck and it made me soo angry, but they had the sign on the truck that said they are not responsible for any damages...A few pebbles hit my windshield and caused it to crack.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, could have been worse...My wife called me this morning to let me know she backed out the garage with the passenger door open. New Tahoe with less than 10K.

That's great! Reminds me of this trucking company we were dealing with a few months ago. I was laying in bed (room is adjacent to the sidewalk) and heard a metal crunching sound...figured someone creamed someone at the stop sign down the street and like any curious by-standing Atlanta rubbernecking inhabitant, I got out of bed to see what was up. Much to my surprise, I watched a tractor trailer with the extended flat bed (built for those huge tractors, etc) haul ass across my front yard and down the street! Ah, bliss I thought, I love calling people on the phone to discuss, shall I say, “Discrepancies”.

After realizing that his huge fucking truck could not travel, successfully, down a one way street that is barely wide enough to fit a Subaru + a car parked on the sidewalk, he decided the proper course of action would be to accelerate over the 2ft concrete retaining wall that surrounds my front yard and proceed nonchalantly across my front yard.

This is why I am on the City of Atlanta’s blacklist, I bitch and moan about how the street needs a “If your truck is bigger than this sign, DO NOT TURN DOWN THIS STREET *(!^#(~!#$@.”

^^^ 2nd the scratch and dent g2g folks.

Hey Alex, if the yard they cut thru is yours I have some suggestions based on my neighbors yards. Large rocks right next to curb or some of those ankle height mini fences. I think it's required to have a bunch of flowers and garden gnomes if you do the mini fence tho.

yeah I'll probably call him and see how much it'll be. However, I do kind of want to try it my self just so I'll know how since I'm sure this won't be the last time this kind of crap can happen. I found a how-to on this lexus forum, anyone think I shouldn't try this? http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread.php?t=211952&highlight=g35+paint+chip
