Is anyone watching the qualifying rounds for the first F1 race of the season. Everything is backwards. Q1 just finished and last years champion skated through on the bubble. This is going to be an exciting year. Everyone needs to tune for the race 1:30 am sunday morning.

I am so rooting for Brawn GP. I want to see them kick much ass. This might also show that Brawn was the real brains behind all of Ferrari's success during their domination. This is the first car Brawn has had full control over the design of since leaving Ferrari.

True but still questioning why they would have a backup diffuser if they didn't think the first would pass. It is a good ploy to make the other teams question their rides though...almost like some redneck NASCAR engineering has seeped into F1 as for "gray areas" in the rules being manipulated.

I root for McLaren but I do find it funny that the Mercedes powered Brawn cars are kicking the factory cars butts.
I really enjoy watching the races live even if it in the middle of the night. If I waited for the rebroadcast my wife would be trying to get me to do some chore and I would miss something. This way I am tired all day tomorrow but I'll see the whole race uninterrupted.

nicad Yes I am a troll

this has always been the case in F1. it's as much an engineering and rule bending sport as it is a race

There is a ton of engineering, limit pushing and planning before the races but the drivers still have to drive the car to a win. With the possible exception of WRC, F1 drivers are the best in the world. They have to be to turn a single lap at the limit without stuffinng it into a wall.

They finished 1-2 today. Suffering through NASCAR so I can watch the race this afternoon.

I think the gap between the Brawn cars and the frontrunners from last year will close over the next couple of races.

not to sure I like the new aerodynamic cars but its off to an interesting season no doubt Vettel (and red bull for that matter) are too happy but I Love that Brawn ran away with it :wiggle: and I know Alpinestar is happy with first, second, and third finishes

Yeah I watched the majority of it. Had to wrestle the remote away from a NASCAR household. Glad I got to see what I did.

I'm not sure vettel will be happy at all. 14th when there was a chance for 3rd, I'm sure they are happy on some level that their cars seem competitive but the last 5 laps did not go well for vettel. No points=disappointment

Oh yeah, the new cars are ugly compared to last year. Last years car was downright sexy.
