When i bought my STi the seller told me that there was a 70k mile extended warranty that was transferable. I've been calling him for the whole time i've had it and he had been putting off transfering it. I called him today and he FINALLY told me that he "found out" that the warranty was not transferable since it was some special deal he got.

My first question is what is the length of the factory warranty for a 2005 STi?

And do i have any legal reprecutions that i can take against the seller if i can't get my problem fixed since he claimed that there was a warranty???

    The standard factory warranties are:

    3yr / 36000 bumper to bumper warranty

    5yr / 60000 powertrain warranty

Not sure on the legal question...any chance you have it in writing from the seller?

sure it wasn't just extending the bumper to bumper warrenty to 5yr/60k? Thats what was offered to me when I bought my car. Course mine was used, but I would imagine the offer would still be here.

You are correct, I bought mine with 26K and had the 5yr/100mi transferred not sure about 60K but mine is definitely 100K. But I transferred from the previous owner.

If I read your post correctly there was not anything transferred at all from the previous owner to YOU. If you can prove that the sales man promised that and you have written proof or some other concrete proof I do not see the problem other than legal action might me more expensive than the cost to fix ur car.
