Hey guys, I was talking to a customer yesterday at work about street racing and he told me theres a red mustang convertable, I think he said 98ish model, that will start a race with you and as soon as you break the speed limit he'll drop back and pull you over. He doesn't give you a racing ticket, just a speeding ticket saying he was trailing your speed. So don't come here and try to race one, just giving you a heads up. :gfight:
I'm no lawyer, but depending on the circumstances, couldn't it be considered "entrapment"??? :dunno: How does that work? Anxiously awaiting any comments from blueline or other law-types on here...
Yeah, that sounds like BS to me. They can't instigate a street race and then bust you for it. I'm guessing the story was either made up or heavily changed.
I agree, I believe that would be considered Entrapment also. Now if you were to pull up beside the Mustang, and rev at him, then you instigated the race, and he can bust you.
i have heard those stories before too... not sure how true they are... however none of us need to worry about that since street racing is against the WRXatlanta rules of conduct
I have heard stories when i was still going to gainesville college that a classmate was pulled over by a 240sx on his way to class. Just for speeding though.
hey, heard the same story from a guy at school (Lanier Tech) saying there's a silver jetta out there that does it also. I think the 240 is the one the cops got from a bust, it's twin turbo from what I understand.

Ive also heard this story, except in a white mustang. If it is indeed true, its completely BS, and I am not entirely sure how well the ticket would hold up if you actually went to court against it. It may be more or less something just to get those who wont go to court, to pay. And the funny thing is, in terms of traffic laws, police are not above them. IIRC, the only government section that is above traffic law is the post office. If they wanted to, they could drive backward on the highway as long as its for the purpose of delivering the mail
yep, its not a 240 its a 300z twin turbo they impounded from someone. It's pretty badass! And I would recommend NOT messing with the guy that drives it. Thats a big guy!
you know there was one that totally blew the doors off me one time...he was a bigger cat.....but I wasn't trying to race a TT300z.....I always was a fan off the car and wanted to see just how fast it was off the line....I defintiely found out :keke: ...wonder if it was the same guy?
dunno. It's actually a pretty cool car. Other than the lettering it looks almost stock, but you can just see the lights inside. First time I saw it I thought it was someone trying to impersonate the police.
Yea, I've met him, all the hall county/gainesville/pendergrass/oakwood cops come to our shop to get their windows tinted, and soon we'll be putting the lights on their cars, we've got an account to get the emergency lights on the cop/ambulance/firetruck/county trucks. I can get you guys one for a small fee. we also can get the hidden ones.
is it illegal for you to install it on non emergency vehicles? if so, please keep that discussion off these boards... if not, then go ahead
not illegal to put on, but illegal to run on the street....a show car could have it for instance. I have been looking for a decent tint shop. The guy that I used to get to do all my tinting has moved on to bigger and better things and I can't find a way to get in touch with him. Where do you work?
