Wirelessly posted (From Your Mom's House) I know there are a few of you that have curbed/bent a wheel. I had a place refinish a wheel and in talking to them, they would be interested in a group "fix your wheels day". This could be done at their location or at a place of our choosing. Cost would be about $50 a wheel and somewhere around $180 for all four. He can fix one wheel in about 30 minutes and depending on our interest...there might be 2 techs. The place is Alloy Wheel Repair/World of Wheels off 285/Memorial Dive. www.mobilewheelrepair.com Let me know what you think...we could shoot for a weekend in August or September while the weather is still nice.
I need to get my riverside wheels refinished.. they aren't even bad but got some curbage. Sounds like a plan
My question is how close can he match the BBS Gold? Grimmspeed.com has "Grimmspeed gold" in a spray can. So in short...I'm intrested
lol when i saw Feeler and wheels in the same sentence it was the first thing that popped into my head
just put some 10-12" lengths of metal rod (cheaply bought at home depot/lowes) on some kind of metal angle (would need to be welded i assume, Breel....?). and attach it underneath the side skirts somehow
when i pulled my tires off to get my wheels powdercoated I found a crack in one of the wheels :[. Can they weld cracks?
hmm. doesnt seem like that would be very easy to make an "install day" type deal if they have to bring a welder with them. i wonder how they fix something like that. wouldnt the extra weight of the weld throw off the balance of the wheel? i assume you could balance it back out, but hmm...
There is plenty of parking room at their location...I will check and see if they have a grill. It might be best if we schedule it there.
I need one wheel fixed another checked and repaired if needed so is $50 per wheel to get it fixed or painted?
oh bummer... well yeah I think my wheels are already way messed up from whomever had them before me (lucky me) I should just save up for a new set to replace them eventually.
Two of my rims are missing part of the metal. Can they fix that? The rims are also gray. So I am guessing that they will need to be sprayed. I am in if they can fix that. I need four rims repaired and I need my cat fixed.
Wirelessly posted (From Your Mom's House) The best examples of their work is on the website in the first post. he also has a moblie wheel straightener. Not sure on a welder, but I would think so. I don't imagine this will be a complete refinish or amything...just fixing the fuck ups and respray. And yes...its 50 a wheel. Oh, and he also tints tail-lights.
I'm in if I'm free on the weekend it happens. Think he can remove the brake dust that has perma-bonded to the wheels too?
Wirelessly posted (From Your Mom's House) Wow...plenty of people. I will speak to him tomorrow. I will also talk to him about signing up on the forums, so it might be a good idea to post some pics.
I am thinking that this might not happen as originally planned. The guy doesn't want to call me back, post up or do any leg work on his end. Sorry. With all this interest...I know that RSConvert can get someone to come up to AllPro.
If there is still enough interest and if everyone is willing to come out to Alpharetta...Joe from http://accuratealloy.com, said he is willing to come out and offer his services at a discounted group rate of $50.00 per wheel as long as the damage is not too bad. If there is a big turn out he may even drop the price more. GTACCORD has used his services before http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25135 FYI cracks and bends will not take a day to fix and may cost more to repair.
These guys can match almost anything perfectly, I think the only difficulty is chromeplating:barf:. What wheel is it?
