i was reading on nasioc and some ppl were gettin their first oil change at 600 miles and i was wondering is this true? when should my first oil change be? 3000 miles like every other car right?
I did mine at 500 and 1,000. Honestly, I don't think it makes a huge difference; go with what you're comfortable with. I liked the concept of getting the initial crap out + you don't know how long the car's been sitting since the first oil was put in it.
if i was you then i would go with 400miles then 700 miles and then 1000 miles then go to my regular 2300 miles.. i never do a 3000 miles oil change cause when it reaches 2000 miles i know the oil is already burned up and it starts burning oil for the best of the car i choose 2300 or 2500 miles..
Do your first oil change at 1000 miles. If you go to a synthetic oil, then changing your oil any earlier than 3000 miles is a waste of money. You can go substantially longer on synthetic if you wish.
buying synthetic is waste of money overall.. cause this is how ur wrx works.. u drive it nice.. it's ur car.. but ever thought when u going 80 miles per hour on 5th gear ur rpm lvl dont drop but stays around 3 to 4rpm so think like this when u change ur oil around 2.5 k keep that oil clean in the bay and keep ur car longer if i was u 2.5 k is the best plan and u dont have to use high priced oil either.. use oil that cost abt 1.50 a qt.. or 2.00 which ever best plan to keep ur car running for ever and keeping ur engine alive and smooth for years to come.. i rec 2.5 k oil change and if u know how to do it.. u save time, money. and stay crunk :naughty:
I disagree. There is absolutely no point in changing your oil before 3000 miles. So even if you do use cheaper oil, it is still costing you more changing the oil sooner than you have to.
i'm going with what wrx guys have rec'mended me.. so go with whatever u want. i'm going this way :wiggle:
