Hello, Everyone, I'm new to this forum so I thought I'd introduce myself. I live in Peachtree City, down in Fayette County. I am 60, been married 38 years, have 2 children and 10 grandchildren. I work for the FAA at the Atlanta ARTC Center as an air traffic controller. My car is an '03 yellow WRX sedan. I got it at Ed Voyles in Smyrna. It has a black leather interior. Only "Go" mods are Cobb stuff... accessport and Cobb TBE with Stage 2. In fact, the tbe is going in today and I'm leaving work now to go pick it up. Then I'll flash the ecu and see how stage 2 performs. My previous car was a red, '93 Mazda RX-7, touring model, highly modded by Pettit Racing in FL, and I miss it a lot, except when it's wet and traction is an issue. Love that AWD! I will probably go for brakes and suspension next. I look forward to seeing y'all around. I'm YallerWRX on several other forums but just found this one from a member of the Cobb forum. Glad to find one locally! Bye for now...
Welcome to the boards. I'm still loving my Cobb AP Stage 2 after 4 months. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, just give the ECU a tank to fully adjust
Hey!! I think I've seen your car around PTC before. I grew up there and my parents still live there. If you ever see a white wagon around town thats me. I think I may have seen your 7 around town too, but there are a couple red ones around.
Yes!!! I 'm not the oldest anymore!!!! Actually, I am pretty sure I wasn't the oldest before.... Seriously though, welcome to the froum. I think you'll find we are generally mature and knowledgeable. We all love our subbies too. I bet you miss the RX-7! Hope to meet you at one of the G2G's sometime.
Welcome aboard buddy, please do not hesistate to let me know if you have any questions, concerns or even general comments about whatever. I do hope you find WRXatlanta to be the place you were looking for and of course hope to see you soon at one of our upcoming g2g's. Browse around the forum a bit, there have been some interesting threads going around recently. Of course, enjoy your stay! Cheers :bigthumb: Alex WRXatlanta Admin / Founder
Thanks for the welcome! javascript:smilie('') Wow, what a nice bunch of folks. You sure make a guy feel welcome. Unfortunately I'm unable to attend the warehouse thing due to stuff that was planned before I found this forum. I will be at other things in the future. I picked up my car yesterday PM after work and the Cobb tbe sounds good. I won't have time to flash the Stage 2 to the ecu until probably Friday afternoon but I'm hoping it will be as pleasant an upgrade as Stage 1 was. I have rheumatoid arthritis and although it is very well managed by the medications presecribed by the rheumatologist I am unable to do some of the work on my car myself that I used to do. That's why I didn't even try the tbe install myself. Allspeed Imports in Peachtree City did a good job, no leaks, for the quoted price, in the quoted timeframe, and it worked out well. I can still rotate tires and change oil, etc., but nothing requiring contortions! It seems I may be among the oldest dudes around here (and likely the baldest) so let me serve as an encouragement to you youngsters... you can be old and still enjoy cars and stay involved. My father-in-law is 93 and still drives himself to dialysis 3 days a week, but he is really old, I'm just kinda sorta old! Thanks again for the welcome and see you later.
Re: Thanks for the welcome! im pretty bald too ur gonna love stage 2... from some of the dyno runs ive seen at our dyno days, AP stage 2 cars put down about 30+ hp and 30+lb-ft more than stage 1 cars at the wheels... thats a noticable difference
Re: Thanks for the welcome! i dont mind doing some of the installs..its fun for me..just get a pizza and some beer and i think most guys here wouldnt mind doing some of the installs for you..
haha Clay you may have him beat. I'll be content with my American Indian heritage and not be able to ever grow facial hair but have a full head of hair when I'm 70 like both grandparents as well as most of my uncles.
I'm down to PTC to visit my dad now and then. He lives across from McIntosh HS and I drive the Blue STI w/ gold wheels if you keep an eye out for wrx's. I learned as a teenager in PTC to not enjoy those fun roads in PTC too much. Unless there was an accident/big event of course. Then the roads were *wide open*. 8)
Glad to see having a fun car will never get old for you. I'm in PTC about every Sun, so if I see you I'll wave, but I may not be in the suby. Could be in either a '92 Si hatch or an '04 SRT4. Either way I'll wave.
a late welcome to you my friend. im 23 just a few years shy of you, however, i might be the fastest balding person alive. about 2 months ago i had a full head of hair, now... not so much at all. good thing my girl likes bald men, or so she says. hope to meet you soon. we have been getting together really regularly recently. i hope that you will be able to make it some something. i have only been on the site since Feb and i have met so many great people and we range in age, race etc... Coolest group of people ever. again welcome. Tom
