First time at the track with my wagon

Discussion in 'Modifications & DIY how-to' started by Nemesis Digital, Nov 6, 2006.

  1. Please let me know if this time seems normal for my mods, and what I should improve upon? This was my first runs really ever in the WRX with Stage II OTS.

My original goal of achieving 13s was close, but not quite enough.

getting the 60 foot down a little would help ET a lot... also what rpm were u shifting at?

  5. Right around 6000 or so, just before boost starts tapering off. I guess its time for a pro tune though lol

i ran better times shifting at 6500 vs 6000... however that totally depends on your power band... having your car on the dyno might help some

i also found that 6500 seems to be the sweet spot for shifting.

Better than mine was but then I was stock at the time and just learning how to launch. so wish I could have had my car there. decent times for first time though

wish i could have run. kinda hard to do without 3 gear. i'll bet i could have beat some fo those cars and maybe gotten some 14's at least that's what i'd like to think i could do going from 2nd to 4th

hehe, I don't know. Missing a gear would probably hurt quite a bit.
At least a second, maybe two.

Get a Protorque torque converter, then its 4EAT FTW. Super easy and repeatable 1.8 sec 60ft times, compared to the 2.3s 60ft times that the stock TC lets you run.

Those are not bad times at all George. My best time was 13.97 and mine is a sedan. I launched at 4500-5500 and always shifted at redline. Do y'all think that if i would've shifted at 6000-6500 i would've gotten better times?
