So I noticed last night that again my driverside foglight went out. Any clue what could be causing this? I replaced a bulb for the same light earlier this summer. I used just the regular bulbs (not the silverstar, even though I might because my headlights have been running strong for over a year now). The passenger side has never gone out on me.
I had a similar problem on my '03 and I wrote it off as a bad-new bulb. Put in another new one and all was well. Beyond checking for tight connections and a bad bulb... :dunno
Did you touch the bulb with your oily fingers? Is the fog light loose and rattling the crap out of your bulb? Have you stuck a voltmeter up to the power source and verified you are getting the correct dc output?
The dc output should probably be whatever the light is rated for. So look on the bulb or bulb box to figure it out.
the oil on your hands is probably why. when i worked at my families motorcycle shop people would come in an dbuy halogenn's and you tell them " don't touch them with your fingers" but sure enough they are back like a week later. also if you do touch them then clean them with rubbing alchohol. i usually just handle them with a cloth with alchohol on it.
I was pretty careful about that. I haven't really looked into it yet though, so if the bulb is broken, that was probably it.
