anyone know how to rewire the fog lights so they can be turned on independantly of the headlights....and consiquently stay on with the highbeams.

Shouldnt be too difficult, I can pull up some wiring diagrams if you want...or I can at least try to find them. I've got the WRX shop manual somewhere.

That'd be sweet... i could do it if I had the wiring diagram for the lighting system. Thanks.

here you go. i did this mod when i got my new headlights cause my dash reads high beams are on all the time so to get my fog lights working i had to do this. it works. and next time go to diy section and go to scooby mods thread thats where the link is i got this from they have all kinds of cool mods w/ full explainations. its links to wrx but they have sti stuff also.

the first pic on the page is part 1 just blow it up
part 2 fog lights independent of every thing :bigthumb:

because they are "fog" lights and in the fog high beams are supposed to be a no no if i remember correctly. so it would be pointless to ride with your high beams in a fog kinda conter productive

I also kinda wonder if it would overload the circuit and blow the fuse. I don't know about the WRX, but on my STI, the low beams stay on when the high beams are on. So, if all three were on, that could pull too much juice. If I have to, I will run a new circuit. You won't want to come around a corner and have the front of my car in your face with all three on...talk about blinding. Actually, the real reason I want them is because I would like to be able to drive around with just the parking lights and fogs on.
