Seems mostly an internal CYA more than anything. The ruling today wasn't a surprise, nor was it unreasonable. I read the opinion, and can't disagree with it; for instance, Streamcast actively tried to go after Napster users once Napster was being shut down, well aware that the vast majority of file trading was copyrighted material. They also answered questions from users on how to play copyrighted movies that had been downloaded, and even tried to block the IPs of the people investigating the content on their P2P network. It's pretty damn obvious they were actively promoting the trading of copyrighted materials for their own benefit.
just trin to give the heads up. i personaly didnt know the internet provider was observing your bandwidth to see how much packets you recieved so they can red flag ya.
