My brother had found a guy with an STi that works at Discover Mills and is selling a turbo back exhuast. He dons't know what brand the downpipe is because he got it from a friend. The downpipe is 3in catless. He also has a 3in highflow cat from Random Technology. The price is super awesome, but I have yet to meet him and look at it myself. I'll try to see if he can tell me the name of what brand that downpipe is. I am going to meet him monday morning and possibly buy it.

What is your opinion on Random Technology (Technologies?)?

A downpipe is a downpipe... right? What kind of differneces are there between different brands?

Originally I wanted to just by a shorty downpipe brand new. 3in catless, and then buy tubing and have Thomas with Autofab Motorsports wield it on. But the price is super amazing and will cost less for me if I take this guy's offer. Thanks for your input <3.

P.S. If this guy is on here.... you should PM me =p (but from what I heard, you are not.).

As long as it's not the HKS downpipe. I know that one doesn't have anything to take care of wastegate gases. As long as it has a bellmouth or the separate piping, you'll be golden.

The only thing negative Ive seen about Random Tech is that their products have a tendency for surface rust, thats it. As for the downpipe, I would pull it off the car and look at the bellmouth and see whats up there. Then you could make the choice whether or not to buy.

Just spray it with some BBQ paint and it will not rust.

yea random tech is good..bellmouth is the most important thing to remember on a DP and again just make sure its not the HKS flat plate DP..yadda yadda yadda everyone else has addressed the important stuff.

The Random Tech downpipe is a regular bellmouth..... Scott has the exhaust, I love it, sounds hot..... I'd go for it

I have Radom Tec DP and Mid pipe with cat and I love the exhaust. It is a very high quality piece.

The BBQ paint will burn off the random tech cat. It gets wayyyyyyy too hot for the paint. I used 1500 degree paint and it still chipped off my cat.

It really is just surface rust, no biggie.

I bought it. It's an unknown brand for the 3 inch catless downpipe (Shorty), has the bellmouth. And Highflow cat from Random Technologies, also 3 inches. It wasn't a whole TBE though. But I think for 250 for both pieces, it was a pretty good deal!

I will probably only want to use the downpipe though, so you think 250 for a shorty downpipe alone would have been a good deal? I might be considering reselling the Highflow cat.
