Please Check these out and Have a SAFE & FUN runs up there!! Part 1 Part 2 I know that they are mostly talking about motor cycles, but the problems are pretty serious for us as well.
Every few years the local media does an "expose" on "uncontrolled and dangerous" sport bikes. I remember these media hyped stories in the early 80's, though it probably started when motors went faster than horses. Flashy headlines sell. Most cops know not to try chasing a fleeing sportbike, unless they want to scrape themselves or a biker off the road(or just get outrun). Personally, I think it's just a matter of knowing your limits and minding public perception. The nuts jobs they refer to in the article don't care for either.
don't get me wrong but at least they don't have a "tree of shame" yet like they do up at deal's gap. i know when i was there i saw two wrecks involving motorcycles...i wonder if the people driving the motorcycles who got in wrecks and survived ever go back there or even ever get back on a motorcycle again.
My friend crashed up there and broke his leg on a guard rail and he's still riding. Bit slower tho...
I had a friend tell me about this the other week, but I never had a chance to catch the actual exposure. Thanks
I hate to say they do these specials. Hell they could do one on any side road around atlanta.. its just as bad on any other road as it is up in the mountains. Just other day my wife saw some guy that didnt want to sit in traffic so he cut across someones yard LOL... morons
