Why the hell do people bid on a car with out being able to afford it? Now I have to freaking relist my car cause some wanna be bid on the car and won it but not can't afford it. I am freaking giving this car away. And I still can't sell it. It's frustrating the crap out of me!
damn dan that sucks. you should tell them on the auction to no bid before calling or emailing you first or there bid will be deleted.
Dan, I know that you will sell it soon. Unfortunately, I have had the same thing happen to me on eBay, except it was for memorabilia. I don't understand why those people do that, and then they make up a really lame excuse. Have you thought about just keeping it, by chance?. Mark
Guys you have no idea how frustrating this is. I do love the Sti but I am ready to move on and get in the cobra. I dont want want a be's you guys know how nice this car is. And what it is worth. It shouldnt be this hard to sell
Yeah, I know what you are saying, but I bet it is really hard for you to sell this because of all the great memories with this car....LOL.... Mark
It is going to be hard to sell Dan. You would sell that car in no time if it wasn't so highly modded. Lets face it, part of the fun of these cars is installing new parts. Your car already has all those new parts. Also, your car is too high hp for 16 year old Timmy to convince his parents to buy the car for him, he has a hard enough time convincing them to buy him a stock STI or WRX. If I had the money, I would buy your car from you, just to strip the parts off and sell, but I am broke as is.
an artical i read today. Spending Your Money Wisely Budgeting Your Purchases One thing to remember is that most of the money that you put into "enhancements" is money that you will never see again. You never recoup your "investment" when it comes time to sell/trade/upgrade to your next true love. There are some exceptions, of course…like wheels (if you keep your original wheels/tires when you upgraded, put them back on when you get rid of your ride and sell the wheels/tires on eBay…typically, you can get 50-75% of what you paid for the wheels) There are FEW people who make money by how they use their car…like racers, advertisers, tuners, mechanics, etc. Other than that, don't fool yourself! Always keep in mind that the price you pay is for pleasure, entertainment, and enjoyment…it's not and never will be an investment. Remember, there is nothing wrong with paying for FUN! Therefore, it is important that you set (at least in your mind) a budget. How much do you want to put in, where does the law of diminishing returns come into play, when does the NEXT hot car come out (i.e. STI, etc.)?
That's why I'm keeping all stock parts. If I ever sell it (don't plan on it!!) I'll reinstall all the stock parts & retune. Then sell all the after market stuff separately. Kinda hard to do with a non-stock block I guess. FYI, specialty cars like Dans usually take longer to sell. You may want to consider listing it in a specialty mag. I would recommend - Autoweek - SubieSport, etc. - That really nicely bound mag on the newstands with all the ferrari/porsche/lambo/specialty cars. Can't remember the damn name right now...
how about trying http://modifiedcartrader.com/ oh yeah, good luck getting it sold. I know I'd sure pick it up if I could. Looks like you've already got it listed there... sorry
if i was you.. i would part out the car.. or part out the mod's i'm sure u would sell half of the mod's here on wrxatl.. or put your car in some good magz another thing i would do is try to see what dealer gives you for it.. carmax? if u could take out the mods then maybe they give u good price.. what u thinking?
i can tell you now. the amount of fab work that went into dans car makes it way too much of a hassle to partout.
Dan, I understand, we're trying to sell 2 of my dad's "special cars". Maxton rollerskate and lotus seven amercia. They're such beautiful cars, and we know that they have a value well beyond their price and we cannot find a buyer. I know you are ready to move on, I was more or less just saying what I said for the sake of it. There isnt much I can say other than just be paitent with the sale. It will come, at least you know the right buyer will buy it rather than someone who will destroy it.
