Any experience with these turbos? Rotated is out of the question since he has EVERYTHING else ready including the WG. GT3076R Subaru WRX/STI Bolt-on Stock Location Kit - Externally Gated They seem to be working very well on IWSTI but I want to know if Topspeed has tuned one of these.
God I hope not. These are made by ATP and are suppose to be a Garrett center section. I have heard they had problems with the wastegate design and not being able to make boost.
Last time I was checking international companies those were made in china. Atleast at PRI and SEMA it was all the china ebay companies selling them. I just checked online and it appears they are no longer selling them so maybe ATP bought the rights to sell them in the USA. But originally they were China built crap.
Wow, not very impressive. You can get a rotated kit for a little more that will make a lot more HP. I have seen green setups make about that on pump gas.
that's not that bad if you're already set up for it...I know some people (cough *Jeb* cough) that already have the FMIC, the fuel system, the EM and all the pipes to go with a stock bolt on...to those people it wouldn't be worth it to go rotated (already spent multiple thousands on current setup, no use losing money trying to sell and dishing money to upgrade to rotated). For a couple hundred bucks (and 100 whp), I think it would be worth it as long as the turbo isn't chinese shit.
Turbo $1895 Wastegate $375 That by itself is $2270 Sell the downpipe you already have $150-$200 no cat $200-$300 with a cat Sell the upipe you already have $50 Sell the inlet $100 Sell the stock turbo $400 Take the 500-750 dollars you got from the parts you just sold and add it to the $2270 you were going to spend and you now have enough money for the turbo kit and 2 hours of tuning. Oh and you get a turbo that works like its supposed to
For a long time it was very expensive to go rotated, with the way my kit is setup it allows you to use the piping that comes with most intercooler setups with very little modification. The legacy I just did only involved cutting one pipe to make it fit.
