So my fuel pump finally came in...but a big section of the connector was broken off! :grr: So im gonna have to send it back to vivid racing, what a PITA!!! Oh well, just kinda pisses me off!

BTW, does any tuning need to be done to accomodate the new, bigger fuel pump (its a 255 lph Walbro) ???

what is the advantage of a bigger fuel pump? Is this only for bigger injectors?

yea..you wont be looking at any benefit until going to larger injectors

It'll be able to maintain proper fuel pressure even when the demand is higher.... so yes, if your stock pump just can't keep up, you need one. Depending on your duty cycles you may well be able to run bigger injectors on the stock pump; however a Walbro is cheap and good insurance.

Knowing vivid it was busted when it ships :-/ . Good luck however :)

Hmmm, i may shop elsewhere next time then.

The reason i got the pump is because im about to get a 2.5l shortblock and run a 20g.

    dammit man, that'll be awesome.
You going to run the WRX heads on the new block??

Soon!! Im getting the shortblock within these next two weeks, then ill get a six-puck sprung hub clutch like genya has. Ill do those both at the same time using the stock wrx heads with the new shortblock.

Then ill get the turbo right after that plus injectors and possibly fuel rails if needed. And then either a massive top mount or a front mount and thatll be it. so id say in the next two months it should all be up and running!!!

I would hold off on the that clutch until you are ready to do something with the transmission. I have a similar setup that you are planning except i have a PE1820 clone from Deadbolt instead of a 20g. If my clutch didn't slip a little when I launch hard I'm sure my transmission would be toast.

I dont launch hard very often at all, and when i do its always i clutch slip launch. I try to baby the transmission as much as possible.

I just ordered some ARP head studs and ill prolly pick up some head gaskets tomorrow!! Anyone know whats the best head gasket to use, Ive heard just us factory head gaskets. What are "cometic" head gaskets?? Thats the other suggestion ive heard.
