ok if you've read my oil return line thread. i got that one taken care of. but in reinstalling the turbo i broke one of the vaccum lines. the one with the "pill" in it. so just so i could drive to pick up my fiance, i put a quick connect on it and some more vaccum line and put it back in place. but now i get a whirring noise and can't hit boost. i was in a hurry to i topped of my radiator fluid with agua and im over heating too, wtf? anybody got some advice?

ok i think the thermostat is sh!t, but why, im not getting any coolant in the system. i sqeeze the hoses, top and bottom and they feel empty. as for the whirring noise. i think i got that one licked.

The hoses and rad. won't get hot if the t-stat is stuck closed. They may get warm mind you but you shouldn't be able to hold on to them for sure. Do the fans work? Does it overheat while driving or just sitting still? Are you lossing coolant somewhere?

The restrictor pill is crucial to allowing the wastegate to function properly and control boost.

As far as overheating, did you pour the water into the overflow tank or into the actual cap on top of the engine? You probably got air into the system, especially since you say that the rad hoses seem empty.

restrictor is ok, as for the over heating , it gets hot driving or sitting still. just takes longer sitting still. and the coolant doesnht' appear to be moving at all.

no leaks or drips of any kind.
    it's a f***ing quagmire

so should i add radiator fluid in the aluminum tank too (god don't think im retarded, it's just been a long day[gave melly's motorcycle a full tune up today, tensioning the chain, cleaning the carb and everything])

indeed, poor water into the nice aluminum tank on top and it should be good. let the car run with the heater on while you do it to fully fill the system.

fill the radiator to the top with the car off and then put the cap on it. then proceed to fill the aluminum tank. while filling the aluminum tank once it seems like its full squeeze the upper radiator hose to burp the system of the air. you may have to fill the aluminum tank and squeeze the upper radiator hose to burp the system a couple of times.

I had to burp my radiator like 20 times. I had a ton of air in it. But that's also because I only had half of the required amount of fluid in there. But all is good now.

fill it up, with the cap still off run the car untill it gets warm, this will allow air to escape, make sure the heater in the car is on, once the t-stat opens/fans kick on and the rad is full, you should be good to go. (just keep filling the rad as required during this process)
