Just trying to see if we have enough people that need things installed to set up another install day. Post up if you need something done. If enough people are interested I will add a poll with some possible dates to see what is best for everyone.

Early or Mid July I will be adding a downpipe or full TBE exhaust. If I end up doing it sooner. I could hang out and assist.

Actually, i thought you could black them out like the headlights but it turns out they just melt from what i've heard.
I think the car looks silly with the black car with stock smoked headlights on the 05's, the window tint, and then these bright red and chrome taillights sticking out in the back. So, I did find some smoked taillight covers at hotsubarus.com i'll order before the install day.

guess I should specify a bit. Never really done any modifications to cars, however I am willing to help with grunt work and learn. I have a gist of what I would be doing, just no experience

where would we host this hypothetical install day?

  17. FTZ

Most likely at my apartment complex. I have a parking deck, not as big as Milos, but the top level of the parking deck is covered so it will help save us from the sun. Nobody parks up there so there should be a good amount of space. 5 minutes north of Milos.

Seems like we have a decent amount of interest. I am moving out of my apartment at the end of June, so ideally we need to set this up before then. Will post a poll with dates over the weekend.

actually, would anyone happen to have a 14mm hex bit and a piston pin puller? If so I may bring my engine with me so I can finally take it apart.

I need to take off my trailer hitch and, money permitting, get some engine mounts and a rear diff kit to get rid of the "THWUMP" on very hard shifts. Late june/early july would work for me. I'm down to just help folks too and hang out. too.

Well, only problem is that I am moving out of my apartment at the end of the month. Since Milo is in TX, that leaves us with nowhere to do an install day. Does anyone else live in an area where we can have maybe 15 to 20 cars up on ramps, jack stands, or just plain jacked up, without interferring with the rest of the neighbors. Time may not work at my place, I have to work on the 10, the 17th will be used moving all my crap, which only leaves the 24th, unless anyone can come up with a place to do this.

My lot can fit a good 50-60 cars. Plus it's right next to my apt so ppl can use the restroom and use the net if they need. Its at the intersection of I-75 and Windyhill Road. just let me know what day we're planning on doing this. I have a very small set of tools and jack stands and will be there to install and help install thing.

Take a 14mm bolt and weld a nut on it. The bolt head goes in the cap and the wrench goes on the nut. Voila.

I used a bent up wire coat hanger to pull the wrist pins out.

  43. Demo24

    Demo24 Member

except I don't have any way to get stuff welded

get a long 14 mm bolt and 2 nuts and back the nuts against each other. Throw a little loctite on the threads for good measure and use an open end wrench on the inside nut.

You will also need an impact driver to remove the screws of the dust covers on the back of the block. They are real hard/impossible to get out with a regular screwdriver.

I have both a 14mm socket and a cordless impact. However I work on Saturdays, so it would have to be a Sunday.

snap ring pliers, you can get some for cheap at napa, or I need some myself and you can borrow them if I get them
I may have the bit also

oh ya I also own a welder if that needs to be utilized
I can make brackets and all sorts of fun stuff. I just need a good metal hack saw and some people to help cut for making them.
