They were still at it when I was over there around 5 or so... stuck at 190whp but they were going to put meth on it to break 200!
I think he was either being sarcastic or is off by 100 hp......that's a very concervative tune:rofl: maybe he's going for better fuel economy
We base lined his car at 280wft,lbs 273 whp. We pulled several times on the highway on the way up there, and we were identical every step of the way But Im expecting that he'd put more down ultimately with the larger TMIC vs my stocker.
I got there right before you guys were leaving. I was gonna come out and say "hey" after I got some food into my daughter. She was a little crabby. You guys walked right by me, but I had food in my mouth...
so the 06 sti intercooler is bigger than an 05 sti intercooler?....haven't really compared the two....obviously they are different shapes.....j/w
ok guys.... it was a long day but im happy in the end current mods: blitz nur spec-r catback helix catted downpipe injen CAI turboXS TMIC AP protuned by SS 366wlb-ft, 318whp these numbers were made on 93 octane and no meth ... needless to say, im very happy... i gained 86 wlb-ft and 45 whp with tuning... AFR is still around 10.5ish... max boost around 18.6psi scott has the plots and should be posting them up soon
Holy shit dude, I saw you were laying down some decent #s when I stopped by but god damn, 366 lb-ft? That's nuts. Also, please post up stock, stage 2 AP and after ProTune for comparison.
varry noice!!! man your 02 was a beast and your 06 is a damb beast as well!!!! and wow, was your car was pulling hard away from me!! sounded freaking sweet too! just wait untill you get a new turbo and meth on that thing, D D D D D DAMN!!!
scott has all those plots... to summarize i have approximate numbers: no EM: ~280wlb-ft ~273whp (~16.5psi peak) AP stage 2 base map: ~325wlb-ft ~321whp (19+ psi peak and 11+ AFR hnoes... then again i had a CAI and big TMIC while the base map expects only a TBE S protune: ~366wlb-ft ~318whp (~18.6psi peak and ~10.5 AFR) so basically, the protune made a LOT more torque and about the same hp but it did so with less boost and safer AFR
so how much is it to get protuned total...like for the AP and the tune. still debating whether to go ecutek or protune. of course i'm also looking at price wise. btw...those are some crazy #'s Milo! i bet you're loving it...and the gas pumps love you too!
Sweet Milo, I bet that frustration of trying for 300whp on the old black knight seems kind of yesterday now...
we believe it was the combination of the bigger IC and the CAI which from what i understand is a big no no if you run the base map... our original plan was to swap the intake and TMIC on the dyno but since it came so close to me leaving, we didnt have time to do that i doubt thats gonna happen anytime soon... u got some awesome times :bigthumb: i'd recommend protune becuase u can keep multiple maps... they even have an anti-theft map that wont let ur car start until u drop a driveable map... AP costs $650 and it took 3.5 hours of tuning @ $120/hr... then again, we ran multiple cases on the dyno the 06 washer bottle sits behing the drivers side fog light cover... the bottle didnt arrive in time... regardless i doubt i wouldve run meth so soon... car has only 1800 miles and i havent even switched to synthetic yet
Note that the AP is a little cheaper for a WRX than an STi. No idea why--higher volume?--but it is...
so on the wrx, it's probably the same, but running a CAI and a larger TMIC like say a sti TMIC that's be kinda dangerous on the stage 2 AP wrx map right with a BOV as well? Is it worse to not run any EM at all though?....congrads on the nice numbers, Milo!!!!!
No doubt man. Congrats again. So you're gonna switch to synthetic motor oil soon? I'm thinking about switching to synthetic motor and gear oils.
Probably only an issue with an off the shelf map. If the car is tuned for the mods, it shouldn't be as big an issue...
my honda has almost 220,000 miles on and get 34 mpg. your right a subaru can't compete with that :naughty: HONDA>subaru
