Well the slipping clutch is fixed and gone. Now on to the other issue. I am only hitting 19.5-20 psi boost in third. It used to slam 23 psi but now it doesn't want to do anything. In 4th it'll spike to 21 psi for a second. The car feels sluggish and all. I have NO boost leaks whatsoever as I used the intake test thingy that SS has. Got a good tank of gas as I filled up at the Shell station I always use. I can't think of anything.

Throw some ideas at me guys. I don't think the spark plugs will hinder boost or will they if they are bad? Maybe my EBCS is going south? I don't know but I do know that this is aggravating me and worrying me to death here. I texted SS but he didn't reply to me so what does everyone else think it may be? :eek:hnoes:

In a similar thread recently someone suggested the extreme heat / humidity were having.... Your car wont hit as hard as it does when its cool out.. Turbo's don't like 93+ degrees...

Yea SS just got with me. I am gonna datalog and I am expecting the intake temps to be high. At 7:20 this morning when I passed the bank it said it was 92 out. JEEZ!

I also think I need to make up an airbox that will use the fender hole for air and see if that helps. The short ram is just sitting in nothing but heat.

will a CAI fit with your FM?

Unfortunately it won't. The Perrin FMIC uses the first Fender well hole. I located a company that makes silicone parts (www.siliconeintakes.com) and I just may consider making my own that goes thorugh that second hole.

Can you elaborate more on the intake vacuum leak testy thingy? I may want to see if I can borrow that, I still think I may have a leak somewherein my system.

that is true, but will it pull boost down by 2 psi? i always thought that in expected knock conditions the ECU will start pulling timing to a point before it goes into limp mode (which i thought would drop boost by a significant amount)...

i feel ya on the weather... this is the 17th 100+ degree day here in dallas... we even had almost a week over 105 :eek:hnoes:

I don't know and SS wants a datalog. With my hearing my may just not be hearing the leak on the intake test.

GTScoob, the tester is a 2 1/2" PVC pipe with a cap on one end. I took a bicycle tire valve and drilled a hole in the cap to pull the valve stem thru. Then took rubber cement and silicone to seal it all up good. Then took silicon on the cap thread and sealed it shut on the PVC pipe. Take your intake off at the turbo inlet and clamp it down on the PVC (if you still have stock turbo inlet you may need a smaller PVC pipe). Then take a air compressor and with a air flow regulator insert air into the intake up to 2 psi over your max boost (confirmed this with SS this morning). Note that at around 9 psi that little black button near the turbo inlet tube will buzz something crazy which is normal and a good thing. Any other leaks will be quite audible unless you are a deaf mofo like me :keke:

I think I found some issues. I literally SLAMMED the gas pedal into the floor last night and got more boost. Checked under the hood and the throttle cable is very very slack. I am gonna tighten it up some later and see if that fixes it. :sx:

    dont overtighten that cable

No luck. Dude I understand the heat and all but 2-3 psi drop is crazy. SS and I think something else is up.

Shoot it must've been the heat and the humidity. The temps dropped a good 10 degrees yesterday and the humidity was almost none existant and guess what......BAM! 22-23 psi.

The car is INDEED a freaking devil child! Freaking whiney nit-picky complaining car! :keke:

Oh that wastegate isn't gonna be touched.

Milo you ever have that issue with the bugeye? I don't think you had the 16g in this kinda heat to know did ya?

I am wondering if it's a EBCS thing. Everyone here is boosting just fine all the time in the heat except me and a friend I know who also happens to have the EBCS. The others are on stock solenoids and one has AVCR.

never had the issue but also never had it out in this heat... maybe your methanol is hot too and reducing its chemical intercooling capabilities

Yeah I really really need to do something about that methanol. Kinda wishing I went 50/50 now for the higher boiling point.

Didnt you say you were running a blanket over the meth tank?

I was but when I had the pump failure I took it out and it got all messed up.

Then after the pump failure I am scared to put another one on as the one before was soaked....soaked in Meth isn't a good thing.

I am gonna make another attempt to fix my first failed attempt to make some sort of heat sheilded box.
