GM BCS installed and tuned

Well, I installed a GM boost control solenoid yesterday. Just a little something to keep me busy. It took all of 20 minutes. Not hard at all. Tuning was not too difficult, just somewhat time consuming checking logs. So on to my results. I found it to be more responsive than the factory. This in turn increased throttle response a bit and for some reason where there was a bit of a stumble on going WOT before, that seems to have smoothed out...not sure why. It holds boot high up and rock solid. I mean before where my boost would jump around a bit, this just seems to be more precise. It goes to where it is supposed to and stays there. There was a learning process for the car though. It was almost like the car had to learn the limitations of this new BCS. It was a bit slow at first to give boost and I was not getting as much in first and second. Now I am getting the full 18.5 psi in first. I did not notice much of a spool up difference though. It seems about the same. I think that is due to an old worn out turbo. I have pushed it and it DOES have 87k miles on it.

So end result...I like it, more responsive, more precise and easy to install, but you MUST tune for this. It is not a direct replacement. I had to lower my WGDC over 40% to not overboost.

Thanks for the post, been considering one of these. Where are your WGDC values around under full boost now? Mine are in the 50s after I switch the hose union and pill on my vf34 car, so wonder just how low they'd get with a GMBCS.

You would be amazed. On full throttle from 2000-2500 RPM I have it set at 100% then it lowers down to around 50 hehe. Maintaining 18.54 psi of boost with low low WGDC is crazy.

    Great
Did you use the pil and what size tubing ?
Did you use the 10 ohm resistor ?
What was WOT boost in 3rd before and after ?
What is IAT at before and after (if changed) ?
DID it click louder than OEM

    I know many questions (sorry)

    Thanks again
Im waiting for my Perrin TMIC to go in and do this at the same time
